of over 2.5 billion pages – each month.

 60% of blogs are run by men, 40% of women.
 80% of people trust blogs for information.
 61% of people made a purchase based on information
from a blog.
 Most people reads blogs during the morning before
10AM.

 Money: Do not start a blog to make money. It will
not happen at first! If your primary objective is to
replace your full-time income by blogging, forget
about it.
 Notoriety: Don’t plan on getting “Internet famous”
right away. It will take you and your site time to
grow in traffic and website rankings. It takes you
and your site a little luck and a lot of hard work to
grow.
 Traffic: It will take time for your site to gain
traffic. It takes sites years to gain good traffic.
Unless your site is promoted on National TV or by a
celebrity, do not expect to see good traffic after
you start a blog.

 Use a clean, simple design for your blog.
 Have ways to allow people to subscribe through e-mail, RSS
Feed, and Social Media.
 Encourage interaction on your posts. Include ways to allow

 Keep posts around 500 words and less. Include photos and
videos in your post!
 Include an about section on your blog. Make your blog
personal.
 Spell-check and proof-read before hitting the submit button!
 Build relationships by commenting and interacting with other
bloggers!
 Write a convincing headline! And include tags in a post!
 Use related articles links. One great app is Zemanta.
 Use a regular posting schedule on your blog. (Editorial
Calendar)
 Share your posts on your social media accounts.
