                         How to Get Expanded Results for Local Monthly Searches

 

1. Navigate to the Google Keyword Tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.

 




 

2. Sign into Google. You MUST sign in to see the expanded results. When signed in, you will see your e­mail address appear at the top. 
Any captchas will also disappear.

3. Perform any keyword search. When the results appear, select the [Exact] match types as shown below.

4. Click on the Columns drop­down box and select Google Search Network.

5. You will now see the Google Search Network column. This column shows the number of user searches for the keyword on the Google 
Search Network per month, based on an approximate 12­month average. This statistic is specific to your targeted country and language, and 
it’s available only for exact match type. The Google Search Network includes Google Product Search, Google Maps, Google Recipe Search, 
and many more.

BONUS: How to find hot Amazon products in ANY keyword search!

 

This is amazing. It’s like manna from heaven. I have no idea how it happens, but Google gives you the EXACT names for the hottest products 
at Amazon for that keyword search.

They’re not always what Amazon lists as the bestsellers for the same keywords, but I make sure to review these products on my niche 
websites. They’re almost always the best selling, highest converting products among all of those I choose to review. 

Here’s how to find these little gems: scan the results for long­tail keywords with model numbers in them. They will usually have very small 
Global and Local Monthly Search results, but outrageously high Google Search Network results:

In my sales letter, I claimed that a 5­year­old could do this. I think it’s possible, but I don’t have a 5­year­old. Could any of you who have some 
rug rats running around test my claim? I’d love to know the youngest age at which a child can pick a promising Amazon product out of your 
search results!

Here is an interesting question that came in and my response:

How will this be useful to us? Our articles are indexed in Google.com but those additional searches are performed in the Google 
Search Network. So how visitors will come to our site?

Sites in the Google Search Network all work differently. Some keep the visitors on their sites with Google Local Search while others do a 
Google Web Search within their site. Since Google doesn’t tell us what sites are in the search network, we don’t really know how many 
additional web searches (that would display your site) are included.

However, the most important use of this information is really in judging the relative popularity of a product. If you find a product that has low 
numbers in the regular Google Local Search and high numbers is Google Search Network, there is a good chance that you can tap into a niche 
that others might be ignoring because they think it’s too small. 

Another interesting thing is that Google is somehow recording exact Amazon product names in the Google Search Network. Even though 
Amazon uses their own A9 search engine, I think Google may be getting the product names people click on so that they can serve up Google 
advertising on that particular Amazon product page. Have you seen the Google ads on the product detail pages?

I don’t know this for a fact, but we’re somehow getting the number of clicks for the Amazon products that show up in the results. I’ve been 
successful in promoting those products so it’s very valuable information to me. 

So, the short answer to your question is that we don’t know how much more your site shows up in the Google Search Network results, but 
those results provide very good suggestions about products you might want to promote.
