Spelling
Sitton Spelling begins this week. There will be a test
on Friday and students will get a personal list of
words to practice with next week.
Reading
This week we start meeting in small groups. Students
have opportunities to work on the 5 components of
reading to strengthen their skills.
Writing
This week we are beginning to look at the steps of the
writing process and what makes a paragraph. We will
write the 1st
and 2nd
paragraph of an autobiography.
Math
Next week will be time for our first math unit test. We
have been working on subtracting and regrouping. I
am excited to help students as they fine-tune their
skills.
Social Studies
We are working on a government unit right now. This
week we are looking at the Constitution and the three
levels of government. We will be looking at the Local,
the State, and the National level.
Special Notes
Volunteers – If you want to volunteer in the
classroom, attend field trips, or be active
within the school you will need to complete
a voluntary background check. Let me
know and I can send one home or you can
pick one up in the office.
