- Christian Lacroix started sketching costumes and dresses at a very young age. He was a very well educated French man who attended multiple prestigious academies. He attended the University of Montpellier for Art history. In 1973, he attended both the Sorbonne and the Ecole du Louvre in Paris, with the goal to become a museum curator. He then met his wife Francoise who pushed him to draw and was supportive of his knack for fashion.
- Christian Lacroix me Jean-Jaques Picart who helped him land a job working at Hermès in 1978, He worked here on different color schemes for the company and the execution of garments. Two Two years later he joined Guy Paulin through the aid of Picart. Eventually he began his work at the Jean Patou House where he worked with Picart to make Haute Couture which multiple people at the time claimed was going down in popularity.
- Together Lacroix and Picard using their inspirations in color to take over the 1980’s won their first DŽ dÕOr together and they were awarded Most Influential Designer by the CFDA in New York in January of 1987. Lacroix used his extravagance, and taste for luxury to rise among other designers of his time. In 2002 he was chosen to be the artistic director for the fashion house of Emilio Pucci
- Christian Lacroix’s The Christian Lacroix House has about 60 points of sale today. His fashion products are sold in 1000’s of stores His accomplishments include: - designing children’s wear, - airport uniforms, - costumes for art and theater, - illustrating a book - perfume - lingerie - menswear - jewelry

- Throughout Christian Lacroix’s career, he holds true to a colorful and costumized look among his lines. During the winter however, these colors are made more subtle and brought out in different, creative ways. It is evident that he is aware of what the female body looks like at what types of clothing will flatter it, thus he is able to experiment while still maintaining a appealing aesthetic.
