The document discusses and reviews several first person shooter games for the Xbox 360 console. It provides ratings and commentary on games like Gears of War, Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and the Call of Duty series. Many of the games received high ratings, particularly for their online multiplayer gameplay. Anticipated upcoming games are also briefly mentioned at the end.
2. Gears of War One of the first games I ever played. Amazing, was my first thought. Good graphics, good gameplay online and off. The ability to take cover in a game was new to me but was a useful trait. An excellent shooter. So much fun, taking your chainsaw and tearing a locust apart. A classic game that won’t be forgotten easily. I think this game is one to play, and play, and play. It never gets old. Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10
3. Gears of War 2 The sequel to one of the best games ever created. GoW2 takes us back underground to yet again take on the locust horde. Gameplay, graphics, dynamics, physics still the same if not better. Online gives us an extra player each side so its now 5 on 5 which gives us bigger and more badass battles. Also the new Horde mode which pits us against waves of locust is insanely fun with friends and others. Again I think this is another amazing game from our friends at EPIC, so go buy it! Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10
4. Halo 3 Before Halo 3 there was Halo and Halo 2, neither of which I had played so I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but soon enough Halo 3 had explained it. The game is an easy game to get into, and the storyline is very good. And as for online, well, what can I say. IMMENSE. I played this game online for weeks, months, years! Amazing online gameplay leads to ranking up, medals and some amazing screenshots and videos to amaze your friends and taunt your foes. Another excellent game to buy. Gameplay: 9/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 8/10
5. Halo Reach The eagerly anticipated prequel to the Halo series. Reach is set before Halo and here we are fighting off the covenant as part of noble team, which is cool, fighting as part of a team for once. Firstly the customisation options have changed since Halo 3, they have gone much better! Customisation is used online and offline now so we have our very our hero who will look the same on and offline. Another feature (taken from Halo 3 ODST) is firefight. Firefight is the GoW equivalent to horde. Here we take on waves of covenant. Which can also be played online. A must buy! Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10
6. Army of Two Army of Two does have its flaws, for me it didn’t feel realistic, it felt and sounded like I was firing rubber bullets. But it does have its upsides. The campaign is pretty good, just you and someone else (either AI or friend) fighting an army. The things you can do with your partner is interesting, like slow-mo fighting whilst surrounded by enemies is super cool. A good game, I would suggest it. Gameplay: 8/10 Online: 8/10 Graphics: 8/10
7. Army of Two: The 40th Day The sequel I had been waiting for. I wanted to see if they could make Army of Two better in this game, and they did. This game felt and sounded more realistic. They added new things for you and your partner to do such as mock surrender, which could be hilarious at times. But also the ability to make harsh and fair decisions was new and interesting. Again this game was based on getting money and customising your arsenal of weapons. I thought the customisation was made better in this game. Better than the first in every way. Gameplay: 9/10 Online: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10
8. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 The first Vegas to me was awful. I didn’t like it at all but Vegas 2 blew my mind. This was one of the first games I ever played with that many customisation options. You could basically build your character from the ground up. Choose the clothing, equipment, guns, perks, you name it. I loved it. The campaign was amazing and I really enjoyed it online as well. A game I have bought and traded in so many times, but it will soon be bought again! Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 10/10
9. Battlefield Bad Company 2 This was a random purchase which ended up being money well spent. I had heard of Bad Company but never played it but when Bad Company 2 came out I thought why not. What a good decision. This game could match (if not already does match) Call of Duty in terms of campaign and online gameplay. To me this game is better than Call of Duty in many areas. I think this game is slower and more realistic than COD, isn’t as jumpy and all in all a better game. This game has made me a fan and I can’t wait for Bad Company 3. Gameplay: 9/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10
10. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Again another random purchase which ended up being worth it. I heard that they were bringing out a new Operation Flashpoint (Red River) and I had always wanted to play Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising so I thought why not, I’ll get it and complete it then get Red River when its released. What a good idea. This game is amazing, the most realistic war game I have played so far. This is a game where you can’t just go running in firing, you have to take your time and think of tactics. A highly underrated game. I can’t wait for Red River. Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10
11. Medal of Honor This was a game I bought just before COD: Black Ops as a warm up for it. Ha. It should have been the other way around. This game was so much better than COD: Black Ops. I completed this game and traded it in for Black Ops, what a mistake. Black Ops is so overrated, this game is so much better. The campaign was very good and online was just as good (if not better than) Black Ops. Not a fan of Black Ops? Buy this. Gameplay: 9/10 Online: 9/10 Graphics: 9/10
12. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare The game that contains my favourite mission ever. The ghillie suit mission in COD: Modern Warfare is one of my favourite missions of all time. But the whole campaign is amazing and online is just the best. This game was played immensely, for days on end. It is a game that me and my friends still go back to. I think that MW2 is very good but not as good as this, I just hope MW3 is better than Black Ops. Gameplay: 10/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 8/10
13. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 The sequel to an amazing game. I don’t think it was as good as MW but it was better than Black Ops and I like it. It was played a lot because it had a good campaign and amazing online gameplay. It was a good carry on from MW but MW just takes it for me. Lets see what MW3 gives us, I hope it will be better than MW and MW2 put together! Gameplay: 9/10 Online: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10
