Deborah Harrington, CCCBSI 2009 Project Director, and I would like to invite ____
College to participate in a pilot of the Sacramento/Central Valley Regional Success
Network.
This is an exciting pilot project in which ____ College, along with four other regional
colleges, will help to build a network of sharing and success. Attached is your formal
invitation, which details how students, faculty, staff, and administrators at ____ College
will greatly benefit from participation in this inaugural Network. Through
your involvement, you will help to plan, build, and sustain a state-wide, innovative
learning Network that will assist California community college students in receiving the
support they need to succeed.
Also attached is a brochure detailing the inaugural Leadership Institute. One basic skills
leader from your college, generally your basic skills coordinator (faculty or
administrator), is invited to attend this Institute where he or she will gain valuable insight
into helping with the specific challenges and/or needs of your particular college. This
basic skills leader will return to share newfound knowledge and insight with many others
across your campus.
Your participation in the pilot Network will provide innumerable benefits for ____
College. You will be part of a dynamic community of professional learning where
networking opportunities occur on the state, regional, and campus levels. I am so
excited that you will be joining us in this phenomenal project! Both the invitation
and Leadership Institute brochure will provide answers to some of the questions you
may have. However, if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact
me at any time. I am the Sacramento/Central Valley Regional Network Coordinator,
and part of my job is to help you in any way I can.
In that same vein, after you have had an opportunity to read the invitation and brochure,
I would like to set up a time to come to your campus to further explain and discuss
your Regional Network, as well as the Leadership Institute. I will get in touch with
______, my contact on your campus, next week to set up a specific date and time within
the next two weeks that I can come to ____ College to visit with all of you.

you help to build will largely be determined by the needs and desires of each of the
