3. Our gate is congested with cars our teacher said, To fix this problem we must use our head.

4. Can anyone think of a safe way to travel? Put your heads together class exclaimed Mrs Mavel.

5. How about we ride animals Jack called out, what an awesome idea Bella replied without any doubt.

6. Luis suggested we should travel using our own feet, like walking or biking would be pretty sweet.

7. Your ideas are fantastic Mrs Mavel expressed, lets set up a competition to work out whats best. I’ll divide you into teams for a big race, animals versus children for first place.

8. Lets meet at the park tomorrow at eight, We’ll race to school so don’t be late.

9. The excited children arrive at the park, the rules for this race are, cross only where there’s a crossing the first team safely at school is the winner READY,

10. they get ready to race and stand on their mark. travel on the footpath, don’t talk to strangers to stay out of danger and don’t forget to look out for each other SET, GO!!

11. The eagle swoops up so high he starts to shiver, he zooms down for a drink and a rest by the river. Oh no Jack cried this wont do, I’m going to have to join in the foot race too!

12. The monkey is racing fast through the trees, he stops for his lunch which is swinging in the breeze. Oh no Bella cried this won’t do, I’m going to have to join in the foot race too!

13. The lion gallops fast along the ground, when he gets distracted by a butterfly flapping around. Oh no Zak cried this won’t do, I’m going to have to join in the foot race too!

14. The dinosaur stomps his feet down the track, looking back he bumped his head with a smack. Oh no Calvin cried this won’t do, I’m going to have to join in the foot race too!

15. The Cheetah strides casually knowing he’ll win, when an antelope passes and he’s off with a grin. Oh no Michael cried this won’t do, I’m going to have to join in the foot race too!

16. Well done class Mrs Marvel exclaimed, you travelled on the footpath, you didn’t talk to strangers, you crossed only where there was a crossing and stayed out of danger but………..

17. What I’m most proud of is you looked out for each other and arrived together! Children win the race!!
