As a level 2 Back office technical support engineer activities carried out includes:
11 End to end service provisioning in the EPC network. This process involves:
• Creation of Service Packages in Huawei UPCC.
• Creating the service policies and charging rules and their binding with the service packages.
• Creation of pre-defined service, charging and bandwidth management rules in the PDN Gateway
(Huawei UGW9811).
• Creation of the service APN and the related configuration in the PDN gateway (Huawei UGW9811).
• Creation of APN templates in HSS (Huawei HSS9860) and binding the same in the subscriber
profile.
• If the subscriber is a VPN user then APN definition and framed route configuration in UIM (AAA
server)
• Provisioning the subscriber in the PCRF (Huawei UPCC).
• Creation of a DNS record in the host file of the MME (Huawei USN9810) for DNS resolution of an
APN.
• Configuration of the Gemtek CPE-customer premises equipment according to customer requirement
and network configuration.
• Implementation of region based policy definitions. This process involves.
• Creating the service policies and charging rules according to ECGI.
• Binding the above policies and rules with the service packages.

22 Server level troubleshooting to resolve network problems This process involves :
• Executing DIG command to check host name resolution in DNS server.
• Analyzing and making changes in the resolv.conf and Named.conf file to create different zones,
editing allowed networks, domain databases and other DNS configurations.
• Analysing messages and system logs in /var/log/queries.log directory.
• Analyzing DHCPD.conf to check and edit the IP ranges, subnet mask defined in a shared network.
Assigning static IP and L2TP contexts to individual hosts (MAC addresses).

load distribution.
• RNC SS7 links and entity creation in ROTN region under Huawei Chennai SGSN.
• SS7 links creation to establish connectivity between Huawei Kolkata SGSN and Kolkata HLR via
Kolkata STP.
• Mysore RNC/SS7 links migration from Huawei Chennai to Huawei AP SGSN for load balancing.
• Supported RNC SS7 link creation for Begumpet RNC in APSGSN.
• Roaming configuration-opened bilateral tie-ups with commercial partners as per the requirement of
