11. Experience so far
Workshops conducted at 1 BoP school, 1 BoP orphanage, 1 mid and 1 high
end school, over 5 months in NCR
Weekend TFJ sessions with over 500 kids over 3 months in Vadodra
Takeaways
Tod Fod Jod spurs excitement and curiosity among kids & many teachers
Kids constantly ask questions
Many connections established between concepts and applications
Kids love it! Keep wanting more Tod Fod Jod sessions
Need motivated mentors, with TFJ habits & curiosity
Tod Fod Jod can form the core of a whole new hands-on type
experience at school
Potential to restore love for learning in some dis-engaged kids

Role Models
Meta Mentors
Meta Mentors
Experienced Tod Fod Jod practitioners or hands-on learning experts whose
expertise can be of help to:
• Create better training material and better “Lesson Plans” for mentors
• Mentors seeking solutions, answers for their Tod Fod Jod projects
Office of Adviser to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations
16. Example of a Role Model

Could potentially be a meta-
mentor as well
Could potentially help develop
“Lesson Plans” related to flight

18. What Mentors need - example
Mentor Training
How to conduct TFJ sessions as listed in expectations
For this they will need hands-on training and Internet based content –
text and video
“Lesson Plans”
Mentors cannot research each TFJ area by themselves
Mentors cannot be expected to develop “Lesson Plans” (sketch of the
journey and associated resources) themselves, in most cases
They are however, expected to practice the project before doing it with kids and to
augment “Lesson Plans”
Support & Collaboration
Mentors will not get all the support and answers they need from their
local environment. An Internet based support and collaboration network
is critical.

20. “Lesson Plan”
Objective of a “Lesson Plan” is to
help Mentors come up to speed with a given Tod Fod Jod project’s
underlying possibilities, science, art, history, technology etc.
Provide them the framework to practice the Tod Fod Jod themselves
Help them develop ideas for facilitating a successful TFJ sessions for this

lies not in setting our aim too high

but in setting our aim too low, and

Notes de l'éditeur
Faridabad pilot doing Tod Fod Jod at college level, but Samir connected this with childhood innovation research and activities in India (Neeraj introduced as having done this as voluntary work in Dehli area past 5 yrs) as potentially having broader impact. Sam feels same as Samir (Need to establish NInC members tie-in upfront.)
Child in pursuit of knowledge and not knowledge in pursuit of the child! -
