2. “intrapreneurship is an organizational investment
into developing a structured approach to using
improvement, innovation and invention to achieve
something new and inspirational whether this is
for social or financial returns or both”

3. Leaders
Focus on longer-term strategies
Have many stakeholders (and, possibly, shareholders) and you have to
communicate quite a seismic shift in business activity
Intrapreneurship drives new income, creates a natural efficiency /
efficacy, encourages innovation – all within an organization built on
strong team spirit
4. Managers
Focus on teams achieving set objectives in a compliant manner
Possibly see intrapreneurship as dismantling their current environment
/ domain / kingdom
In many cases, managers see intrapreneurship as a chance to stretch
their mental muscle and to reinvigorate their career
Consider this: if you have been in a middle management role in the
same organization for ten years, do you honestly see that opportunity
for directorship / partnership?
Intrapreneurship is an opportunity for managers to re-engineer
themselves and remind the powers-that-be that they are
inspirational, motivated and valuable.
5. Teams
Focus on accomplishment of tasks
Have orders / instructions ‘passed down’ to them
Have to fight for their ideas to be heard
Tend to see intrapreneurship as an opportunity to forge new career
paths, new learning & development, self-determination in what they
do, a reduction in (perceived) onerous bureaucracy
Can have a natural inclination to be downbeat and pessimistic – “can’t
be done”, “tried it before and it failed”, “I can’t see people wanting /
liking it”
