For awhile now, I have been in search of a way to have multiple monitors to display all the
documents I need to run on my computer screen. To work in an efficient workspace means having
a way to view multiple windows, browsers, files, with over stacking them. Being always on the go, I
need a dual monitor setup for a laptop, but how?
With the Air Display app by Avatron software, I am finally able to create a workspace for efficient
working. The Dual Monitor setup utilizes your computer and the iPad to work together. The iPad
acts as a second screen. This extra display works for both Mac OS and Windows OS on any
computer and you can use either on the iPad, for optimal usage, or even iPod touch and iPhone.
The setup is easy and you do not need any wires connecting the iPad to the computer. Air Display
connects this extra monitor setup using a wireless connection. If there is no WIFI connection
around, you can create a direct "ad-hoc" wireless connection from your computer to your iPad with
no extra equipment to purchase.
This app can be used for almost anything. You can use device type applications or software on the
iPad screen like Email, Instant Messengers, Calculators, and E-books. You are able to play flash
on the iPad through Air Display because it is running through your operation system that should be
running Flash Player.
It is an excellent display for programming usage; this extra display is a miracle for using
development tools like debuggers, analytics, and checking results.
One cannot forget how useful this app is for Business. The app can be used for Office tools or
Presentations to give clients that keen professional impression and appearance. The uses for Air
Display is many and definitely my favorite iPad app.
Features:
An extra display for your computer
Auto rotation for the iPad (Works in Landscape and Portrait)
Touch sensors work for air display on iPad
Compatible with Windows or Mac
Easy to setup and easy to use
The app is available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
How is it connected?
2. The Air Display connects your iPad or iPhone through a wireless connection. The connection must
be connected using the same network in order to sync your iPad and computer together. For
windows, you can see the Air Display icon on the bottom right corner of your computer. For Mac,
you can view the Air Display icon near the top right on the Mac menu bar.
Setup and Installation Instructions:
First you need to download the app to your iPad.
Installation requires you to download the software for your computer. For Mac and Windows, open
a browser and go to the Avatron website. This will ask you to download and install the software
needed to run with the iPad app. Follow the instructions and you should always click "Always Trust
Software", and "Continue Anyway."
Restarting your computer is the last step before launching the Air Display app. Once finished,
launch your app and connect your iPad device with your computer using the Air Display icon in
your Windows system tray or in your Mac Menu bar.
How do I adjust the settings?
You can adjust the settings through the System Preferences -> Air Display. It allows you to disable
or enable touch input and you can adjust the display arrangement (Place the iPad screen to the
right or left).
To arrange Displays on a Mac, go to System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement. For
Windows, all of the settings are accessed through your Air Display icon located in your Windows
system tray on the bottom right of your screen.
