NewcastleGateshead Initiative has today launched a business support service to help overseas investors get straight down to business and establish themselves in the area. Land:In NewcastleGateshead is supported by Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council, and a number of organisations who will provide overseas investors with access to a range of business, professional and property services. Companies such as NRG (Northern Recruitment Group) Watson Burton, NECC (North East Chamber of Commerce), Eversheds, Ward Hadaway and UK Land Estates have signed up to provide a support package of legal, property and recruitment services with exclusive discounts and Hotel Indigo will offer corporate rates only available through the Land:In service. To encourage more foreign direct investment and help international businesses that don’t already have a presence in the area to establish themselves quickly, overseas investors can also benefit from free office space for up to 12 months in various sought-after locations such as Hoults Yard, Northern Design Centre, Gateshead International Business Centre, Quayside-i4, Queens Park in Team Valley and Regent Centre in Gosforth. It will complement the range of impartial services already offered by the inward investment team at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, which includes: property solutions, access to finance, assistance with recruitment and training as well as facilitated introductions to business networks and key business contacts. Visit: www.InvestNewcastleGateshead.com/land-in for more information
We are now launching a public engagement campaign to get our residents to tell us what they find genuinely inspiring about NewcastleGateshead. A website has been developed that people can contribute words, photos, film, stories, poems to – anything that helps us celebrate what is so special about our place here today. This campaign will run until the end of September and we will highlight changing themes that reflect the place brand values to help ensure contributions align with the place brand. The site will be open to anyone who has something they want to share and be linked to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook so will be easy to use and very accessible. The aim will be to celebrate and engender a sense of pride, to engage communities in what is inspiring about the place today, celebrate what we have and help inform the way we tell the story externally. We hope to feature some contributions regularly in the press and other channels and also at the end have an exhibition of the some of the material. We hope you will get involved by contributing yourself, promoting within your organisations and encouraging friends and families to make contributions too. The more content we can gather the better! Each of you has a ‘key contact’ within our team who would be delighted to help you navigate these opportunities and identify what might be of most interest and relevance to you. We’ll be sending out a full pack of information via email next week, but in the meantime please take a look at the website – click on the ‘corporate’ tab and you’ll see a link to ‘Partner Opportunities’ on the corporate homepage.
Aimed specifically at our non-tourism Gold and Silver Partners who have a large employee base in the North East, these roadshows are being delivered to raise awareness of NewcastleGateshead and all there is to see and do in the region. We plan to deliver six partner roadshows in 2013.The idea is that each partner roadshow event will be set-up in a street-market/festival format, in a communal part of the Partners building/facilities. The roadshow event is designed to provide a fun and informal setting to engage with the employees of the Partner. To be able to promote you, we need prizes which we’ll feature in all pre-roadshow promotional communications, and which we’ll use with our NewcastleGateshead themed fruit machine as a way of engaging with people. In addition to this, and exclusively to Gold and Silver Partners, we’d like to give you the opportunity to come with us and be part of the roadshow activity. To qualify, we need ideas and suggestions for how you could potentially deliver an interactive experience, as a way of promoting your business. For more information contact Cariad Roberts, Partnership Development ExecutiveTel: 0191 440 5748 Email: cariad.roberts@ngi.org.uk
