The mandala form is found across many cultures and religions representing wholeness and infinity. Artist Nancy Griswold creates nature mandalas from photographs of flowers, landscapes, and wildlife. She began by duplicating photos but now uses digital tools to construct more complex designs. These mandalas are intended to showcase natural beauty and promote environmental awareness. They can be purchased as prints, books, or note cards on Griswold's website.

3. The Mandala form is present throughout history in many cultures and religions. The circle center is the basic structure of creation that is reflected from the micro to macro in the world as we know it. It is a pattern found in nature and is seen in biology, geology, chemistry, physics and astronomy. Often it is seen as a symbol of wholeness and the infinite, the world that is both within our bodies and extends beyond. Griswold found that mandalas are meditative in nature to both make and view. She started making mandalas long before the digital graphic arts programs became to assistant artists in this type of venue. At first she was duplicating and printing reflective photographs as a medium. In time she started using photoshop to assist, which opened doors for deeper complexity duiring construction. These Nature Mandalas are of created from Griswold’s photographs of flowers, the ocean, mountains and birds. They are intended to promote the beauty of the natural world and enlighten environmental consciousness.
