A good high-speed network with capacity for growth The foundations of a sophisticated infrastructure, some HPC and massive storage silos, Authentication, some grid middleware and basic services (but not nationally coordinated) Good links to e-research development communities: e.g. Australian National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Committee (NCRIS), Argonne (Globus), San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), eScienceUK, UK NGS, OMII-UK (Edinburgh, Manchester)
