Definition :
social media applications that enable the joint and
simultaneous creation of knowledge-related content by many
end-users
example : Wikipedia ,WikiTravel, WikiBooks
3- Social networks
- give people worldwide a place to put up pictures, videos and interact with
friends/family at any time and place. You can add friends, join groups, attend events,
buy tickets, play games, search for old school/college friends, chat and more .
-examples :
-Facebook -linked in
4- Media sharing networks
-Services that allow you to upload and share various media such as pictures and video. Most services have additional
social features such as profiles, commenting, etc.
-users have to choose, upload and edit image or video files before proceeding with anything else, such as
captions or mentions of other users

5-Bookmarking sites
-These are web services where users collect content from elsewhere on the Internet, and
save it to their account on the platform. This content can be private or public, and shared
with other users. Often, these bookmarking sites will then suggest content similar to the
links or images you have already saved on the network.

-find people with common interests, no matter how niche these hobbies may first
appear to be.

-Give the ability to view and purchase desired goods with a click of a button.
examples :
-poluvoure : aggregate products from different retailers in a single online marketplace
-Etsy :
allow small businesses and individual crafters to sell their products without an existing
brick-and-mortar location

- A computer-based simulated environment populated by many users who can
create a personal avatar, and simultaneously and independently explore the
virtual world, participate in its activities and communicate with others.

-websites allow those on the run, to view the latest in news and stories
worldwide. not only showcase news and live footage, but provide a platform for
users to give their opinions or start discussions, even forums. Articles related to
science, medicine, technology and entertainment are featured as well.

  • 4. 2-collaborative projects Definition : social media applications that enable the joint and simultaneous creation of knowledge-related content by many end-users example : Wikipedia ,WikiTravel, WikiBooks
  • 5. 3- Social networks - give people worldwide a place to put up pictures, videos and interact with friends/family at any time and place. You can add friends, join groups, attend events, buy tickets, play games, search for old school/college friends, chat and more . -examples : -Facebook -linked in
  • 6. 4- Media sharing networks -Services that allow you to upload and share various media such as pictures and video.   • 11. 9- News updates -websites allow those on the run, to view the latest in news and stories worldwide. not only showcase news and live footage, but provide a platform for users to give their opinions or start discussions, even forums. Articles related to science, medicine, technology and entertainment are featured as well. examples : -CNN -BBC
