Summary of Top shows on Kids channels


1. Doraemon is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko F. Fujio which later became an anime series and
an Asian franchise. The series is about an intelligent robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in
time from the 22nd century to aid a pre-teen boy, Nobita Nobi.
A majority of Doraemon episodes are comedies with lessons regarding values such as honesty,
perseverance, courage, family and respect for elders. Various environmental issues are often visited,
including homeless animals, global warming, endangered species, deforestation, and pollution.
Miscellaneous educational topics such as dinosaurs, the flat Earth theory, wormhole traveling, Gulliver's
Travels, and the history of Japan are often covered.

2. Chhota Bheem is an Indian children's animation series, focusing on the adventures of a small boy named
Bheem in the fictional city of Dholakpur.
The story revolves around Bheem and his friends and their rivalry with Kalia and his friends. All the
children of Dholakpur look up to Bheem, as he solves everyone's problems. He also defeated some enemies
in and around Dholakpur like the evil demon Kirmada, Kichak & Mangal Singh. The Raja Indravarma and
his daughter Indumati trust Bheem more than any one else for a major task.

3. Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French animated comedy series produced by Xilam. The 30 minute show
typically contains 4 episodes.
The show centers on Oggy, a content and lazy, albeit very tender fat blue cat, who would usually spend his
days watching TV or doing something - if it wasn't for the three roaches in the household: Joey, Dee
Dee and Marky.
The cartoon itself relies on slapstick humour, much like its inspirer, Tom and Jerry, only amplifying the
level of extremities up a notch; while traditional slapstick cartoon characters prefer
dropping anvils and pianos on each other, this show sometimes uses even buses or submarines. Despite these
however, most gags are easily accessible and enjoyable for younger viewers. Since dialogue is kept to a
minimum the humour is entirely visual.


4. Ninja Hattori-kun is a Japanese manga series created by Motoo Abiko, later adapted into a television
drama, an animated series, a video game, a live-action movie, a 2009 revival of the show along with a 2012
anime series currently on air.
10-year-old Kenichi Mitsuba is an average kid who goes to elementary school and struggles with his studies,
he is very stubborn and is very lazy and therefore always gets shouting from his parents and teacher.
Meanwhile a little ninja named Hattori Kanzo befriends Ken'ichi. Hattori is now a part of the Mitsuba
family along with his brother Shinzo, and his ninja dog, Shishi-Maru. Hattori helps Ken'ichi with his
problems, and constantly keeps an eye on him, as a good friend.


5. Crayon Shin-chan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshito Usui. It follows the
adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbors, and
friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture.
Due to controversy over the behaviour, style and attitude towards elders exhibited in the show, the Parents
and Teachers Association complained about it claiming that Shin Chan is a bad role model for kids.[18] The
show was banned in October 2008 by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (India) on account of
heavy nudity & profanity. Before the ban, the Hindi version of Shin-chan gained up to 50-60% market
share. After many requests from the fans, the Censor boards re-examined and heavily edited the nude scenes
and profanity and restarted broadcasting on 27 March 2009. All the mature theme jokes were translated into
childish ones.


6. Roll No. 21 is an Indian animated series. The animation is done by Animasia Studio Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia.
The series is a modern take on Krishna and Kamsa's rivalry. In this version, Kamsa has re-incarted as
Principal Kanishk, the principal of Mathura Anath Ashram, where he is cooking his evil plans to take over
Mathura and then the rest of the world. He is supported by his various minions and demons, while Kris a
little boy who is a student in the orphanage will do anything to stop him
In order to get rid of Kris, Kanishk keeps calling various monsters and demons from Paataal
Lok (the Netherworld) to fight and beat Kris but using his wit and mystical powers, Kris keeps defeating all
the demons.

7. Hero-Bhakti hi shakti hai ("Devotion is Strength") is a live-action superhero TV series that airs in India.
The show first aired on UTV's Kids channel Hungama TV. It was then aired on Disney XD. Currently it is
repeating on Hungama TV.
Hero is a live action fantasy about the heroic deeds and adventures of an ordinary boy Joy, who is bestowed
with out-of-this-world magical powers by the Goddess Durga to help him fight the arch-villain Viraat.
"Hero has strong emotional appeal and Indian values, which along with the fantasy and comedy elements
should make a great viewing experience for kids. Our research shows that kids enjoy the theme of ‘Good
winning over evil’ and the struggle that follows", says Hungama TV head of programming Zarina Mehta.

8. Tom and Jerry is a series of theatrical animated cartoon films created by William Hanna and Joseph
Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, centering on a rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose
chases involved comic violence.
The series features comedic fights between an iconic set of enemies, a house cat and mouse. The plots of
each short usually center on Tom's numerous attempts to capture Jerry and the mayhem and destruction that
ensues. Tom rarely succeeds in catching Jerry, mainly because of Jerry's cleverness, cunning abilities, and
luck. Despite this, there are also several instances within the cartoons where they display genuine friendship
and concern for each other's well-being.

9. Madan Senki Ryukendo is a Japanese television series. Akebono City is a peaceful community
overflowing with humanity. Since there was a Power Spot that released magical power in the community,
the people were distressed by the threat of the demon army Jamanga who are gathering Minus Energy from
the frightened masses for a sinister purpose.
The secret organization SHOT was formed to protect the people of the community from the Jamanga,
concealing their existence as ordinary members of the Akebono Police Station, which considers demons
beyond their jurisdiction. Kenji Narukami, a student of the Narukami Dragon God Style for fighting
demons, arrives to Akebono to fight the demons, eventually getting his wish when he is transformed to
Ryukendo and faces off against Jamanga's forces together with his friends in order to restore peace in the
community.

10. Phineas and Ferb is an American animated comedy-musical television series. The show follows the
adventures of stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who live in the fictional town of Danville,
somewhere in the Tri-State area. The boys' pet platypus, Perry, acts as a secret agent for an all-animal
government organization called the O.W.C.A. ("Organization Without a Cool Acronym"), fighting Dr.
Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
Much of the series' humor relies on running gags used in every episode, with slight variation. Aspects of the
show's humor are aimed at adults, including its frequent pop-cultural references. The co-creator, said the
show was not created just for kids; he simply did not exclude them as an audience.

11. Ben 10 is an American media franchise created by "Man of Action" and produced by Cartoon Network
Studios. The franchise is about a boy who acquires a watch-like alien device called the Omnitrix (later the
Ultimatrix) that allows him to turn into alien creatures.
The Ben 10 franchise received widely acclaimed reviews and won two Emmy Awards; also has grossed over
$2 billion in retail sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and has sold 100 million toys
worldwide.[1]

12. Horrid Henry is a British animated television series based on the book series by Francesca
Simon produced by Novel Entertainment. Henry is shown as being a "horrid" child, indicated by the people
around him, including his mother, father and teacher. He is shown to be around 10 years old.

13. Mr. Bean (animated TV series) is based on the British live-action series of the same name.
The series featured little actual dialogue, with most being either little sound bites or mumbling, mild
slapstick. Mr. Bean is mischievous and makes numerous disasters and always encounters problems in a
roundabout way. He is shown to be both immature yet surprisingly resourceful when he needs to be. He
wants every environment around him to be clean and out of trouble.

14. Johnny Test is a Canadian animated television series.
The series revolves around the adventures of the title character, Johnny Test, an 11-year-old suburban boy
who lives with his super-genius 13-year-old twin sisters, Susan and Mary, both of whom are scientists. They
reside in the fictional town of Porkbelly, which is alternately located in Ontario, British Columbia,
or California, depending on the flag displayed at Johnny's school. Johnny is often used as a test subject for
his genius twin sisters' inventions and experiments, which range from gadgets to superpowers. Their
experiments often cause problems that he must resolve, and he must sometimes fight villains in the process.
He occasionally saves the world with his sisters' inventions.


15. Kiteretsu Daihyakka is a science fiction Japanese series. There are many similarities in the makeup and
appearance of the main cast to the cast of Doraemon, which was also created by Fujio, although the content
of the story is completely different.
The main character is a scientific genius grade school boy named Kiteretsu, who has built a companion
robot named Korosuke. He frequently travels in time with his friends and Korosuke in the time machine he
built. Tongari is his rival, who happen to share some similar traits of Honekawa Suneo.
