Norman Poh is a Computer Scientist and lecturer at the Department of
Computing, University of Surrey, UK. He obtained his PhD from the Swiss Federal
Institute of Technology (EPFL, Switzerland) in 2006. Prior to this, he was
with CVSSP, Surrey; IDIAP Research Institute, Switzerland; and LSIIT, Universite
Louis Pasteur, France. His areas of expertise are pattern recognition and
information fusion, applied to biometrics, healthcare, forensics, and big-data
analytics. In these areas, he has published more than 70
scientific publications. He is the recipient of 5 Best Scientific Paper awards, two
Swiss NSF Fellowship Awards, and the Research of the Year 2011 Award of
University of Surrey.

4. Aamo is a first year PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Anthony TS Ho and Dr.
Norman Poh. His research topic is “Application of Digital Forensic Techniques to
Biometrics”. He obtained a B.Sc in Computer Science at Benue State
University, Makurdi, Nigeria and a Masters in Forensic Computing, Coventry
University, UK. He has two publications so far.

Santosh Tirunagari joined the Dept. of computing in January 2014. He is supervised by
Dr Norman Poh and Dr David Windridge (CVSSP). His research topic is "Advancing
Machine Learning and Data Mining Algorithms for Processing Big Data". He completed
his Masters degree from Aalto University, Finland (2010-2013). Previously he was a web
programmer (2009) and GIS specialist (2010) . He completed his Bachelor degree from
the JNTU, India (2009). He was also a founder of LokalHouse (2013). His areas of
interests are ML applications for Image analysis and Text mining. In these areas, he has
published 10 papers. He is the recipient of ACE Invention award for LokalHouse, two
travel grants for attending conferences, and four research grants for carrying out
research in masters degree program.

6. Nik Suki started her PhD study at the Department of Computing, University of Surrey on
October 2013. Her principal supervisor is Dr Norman Poh and secondary supervisor is
Dr Saeid Sanei. Her research area is “Measuring the strength of evidence in Forensic
Biometrics”. She obtained her MSc Degree in Computer Science (Information Security)
from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia in 2013 and her BSc Degree in Computer
Science (Software Engineering) from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia in 2007. Her
study is funded by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia
Pahang.

Ramón Blanco Gonzalo obtained his Degree in Telematics Engineering
at University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M) in 2009. He completed his inter
university Master in Telematics Engineering in 2011, being his Master
Thesis related to smart environments and biometrics. He is currently working at
the University Group of Identification Technologies (GUTI), as a R&D engineer. His
PhD is focused on analyzing and improving the usability in biometric systems.
Furthermore, he is a member and editor of the AEN/CTN71/SC37 “Biometric
Identification“ and the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 37 “Biometrics”.
