He was born in 1917 and died in 2008, when he was 90. He was a science -
fiction writer, scientist and artist. He died in Sri Lanka (which is a country placed
30km in the south of India, famous because of the tea and cinnamon).
Sri Lanka has about 20 million
people, and Mr. Clarke went there
because he loved scuba diving.
The main religion in Sri Lanka is
Buddhism, even when in the 90’s it
was a British colony.
The capital of Sri Lanka is Colombo, which
actually has a population of 682.046 people (it’s
the biggest city). It’s placed in the western
province of the island.

Mr. Clarke was very famous because he co-wrote with Stanley Kubrick the
script of “2001 Space Odyssey”.
The film deals with thematic elements of human
evolution, technology, artificial intelligence and
extraterrestrial life, and is notable for its scientific
realism, pioneering special effects, ambiguous
imagery that is open-ended to a point approaching
surrealism, sound in
place of traditional
narrative techniques,
and minimal use of
dialogue.
Even now days that film is considered one icon of
the classic cinema and thousand of people keep on
viewing it.
