5. Psychology at Coastal Carolina University The Psychology department at Coastal Carolina is part of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences. The professors in this college are all very experienced and have earned their degrees from prestigious universities around the country.
6. Psychology Majors and Minors at Coastal To complete your major at Coastal you are required to complete at-least 36 credit hours in approved courses. The school offers both a B.A. and B.S. degree. To complete a minor at coastal you must complete a total of at-least 22 credit hours in approved courses. There is also a Gerontology Certificate Program which is administered through the psychology department which is open to anyone either enrolled in a degree program at the university or anyone who holds a baccalaureate degree. This is a 21 credit-hour course.
7. Psychology Organizations at Coastal PSI CHI is the National Honor Society in Psychology. The Coastal Carolina University Chapter of Psi Chi has been active since 1990. Membership in Psi Chi is open to students who are Psychology Majors or Minors and who have maintained a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
8. Psychology Organizations at Coastal (cont) The Psychology Club is a student-run social organization open to all students with an interest in Psychology. The club sponsors fund raisers for local organizations, invites speakers to campus, and arranges trips to local and regional psychology conferences. The Psychology Club has been active since 1993.
