Main Aim: By the end of the lesson
the students should be able to
compare people making emphasis on
comparatives.

(January 21st , 2014)
A: Look at Paula. She’s excellent at soccer.
B: Yeah, I know. She’s a really good.
A: And what about Mariana?
B: She’s really bad at soccer. She’s worse than all than other
girls.
A: Yeah. She’s the worst player in the world.
B: She can’t kick the ball and she can’t score goals.
A: She can’t do anything. What about Anna? Do you think
she’s good at soccer?
B: Well, she’s very good, but Paula is definitely better than
her.
A: Right. Paula is better than the other girls. Paula is even
better than you!
B: That’s not true?
A: Yes, it is. Paula is the best player in the school.
B: Hmmm
Some adjectives have irregular
comparative forms (e.g. goodbetter-best
Paula is better at
soccer than
Mariana.
Paula is better than other player
in the school.
Mariana is really bad at soccer.
Mariana is
worse than
all than other
girls.
