4. Intro-Why an assessment?
THIS STARTED AS A FATHER’S DAY PROJECT. ON FATHER’S
DAY WE USUALLY THINK ABOUT OUR FATHERS, VISIT THEM,
AND PAY THEM HONOR. I DID THIS THIS YEAR AS WELL,
BUT I ALSO GOT THINKING ABOUT HOW FATHER’S DAY
MIGHT GIVE ME AS A FATHER AN OPPORTUNITY TO ASSESS
HOW I AM DOING IN MY FATHER ROLE. THIS GOT ME
STARTED ON THIS SELF ASSESSMENT. THIS ASSESSMENT
USES A SIMPLE MODEL AND QUESTIONS TO HELP US FIND
WAYS TO IMPROVE. AS I PUT THIS TOGETHER, I THOUGHT
IT MIGHT BE USEFUL TO OTHER FATHERS, SO HERE IT IS.
WE CAN BECOME BETTER FATHERS AND IMPROVE OUR
RELATIONSHIPS. LET’S MAKE A START.
