Major mobile manufacturers admit using environmentally disastrous tin
Nokia, Sony, Motorola, LG and Blackberry have all issued statements
admitting varying degrees of culpability in using tin from the Indonesian
island of Bangka, where mining operations are causing deforestation,
spoiling drinking water and farmland, and destroying local coral reefs.
Ford to Make India a Global Auto Manufacturing Hub
American automotive manufacturer Ford has announced plans to make
India a central platform for their global vehicle production. The company
will move production facilities to its plant at Sanand, Gujarat, and
commence manufacturing of three different vehicles from 2014. These
cars will include a small hatchback, a new regular hatchback and a mid-
sized sedan.
Tiger Logistics Files For IPO
Tiger Logistics Limited has filed an IPO on BSE SME Platform. Its
Clientele includes Yamaha Motors, Honda Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto, New
Holland Tractors & Escorts India Ltd. Its recent projects are BHEL,
ISGEC, Jaguar Overseas, Ircon International Ltd, Afcons Infrastructure,
Lucky Exports, and Mahesh Exports & Angelique International.
Jaguar Land Rover to recall 11,852 vehicles in China
Jaguar Land Rover TAMOJL.UL, a unit of India's largest automobile
company Tata Motors Ltd (TAMO.NS), will recall 11,852 vehicles in
China over possible engine and oil leakage problems, China's quality
watchdog said.
