3. New Prayer Requests:
t Pray for healing for Eric Stone who is home from college
fighting severe strep and mono.
t Pray for peace and guidance for Jenna Kuiken, daughter
of Terry & Kim, who lost her home in Colorado due the floods.
Her cat is unaccounted for and she is not allowed back into
the area for several months.
t Praise the Lord that Al Jacobs has been moved to Tender Care following
his second heart cath and an adjoining room is ready for Shirley as soon as
she is well enough to be released from the hospital.
t Praise the Lord that Frankie Zwiers did not need to have a mastectomy as
no cancer was found in her lymph nodes.
t Praise the Lord that Karen Visser is doing great following her emergency
hip replacement.

DAMARIS CARBAUGH CONCERT Damaris is a talented singer who appeared regularly
on the “Day of Discovery” TV program and has been a featured soloist with the Brooklyn
Tabernacle Choir and on the Moody Radio Network. Her concert is on Friday, October 4, at
4:00 p.m. at Beechwood Church in Holland. No charge...but a freewill offering will be taken.

PARKSIDE’S ADOPT A LAWN PROGRAM
Rather than Rake „N Run this year, we are asking families to sign up at the youth
counter to rake a lawn. (This is not a youth fundraiser.) Families in need can sign
up to have their lawn raked and a couple families per yard are needed to do that.
Annual Reports are due to Judy by October 1.

6. Women’s Class -- Gideon -- Now
through Dec. 15
Know what you believe and why! How is Mormonism different from Christianity?
What do Jehovah’s Witnesses actually believe about Jesus Christ? What is the
difference between Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims? You will learn about the most common
world religions and cults and how they compare to Christianity, and discover what to
say to a friend, neighbor or co-worker of another faith. Meets in the far “North Room.”

This DVD women’s class facilitated by Ria Nieboer explores the story of Gideon,
about God and His people - His love for them, as well as His strength operating in
spite of, even through, their weakness. If you’ve ever felt insufficient, ill-equipped,
incompetent or outnumbered, this study is for you! The cost for the study guide
is $14. You are still welcome to come if you didn’t sign up in advance; however,

This two-year course is designed to give those students in 8th-11th grade a thorough
knowledge of the Bible. The first year focuses on the basics of the Bible and introduces
the Old Testament history from creation to Israel‟s return from exile. It is foundational to
a proper understanding of the New Testament and will equip the student with Bible Study
tools and insights they will use their entire adult life. The 2nd year covers the New
Testament and essential Christian doctrines. It is a two-year commitment. If you are a Sr.
this year, you will be allowed & encouraged to participate in this important Old Testament
course. THE PARENT/CHILD AGREEMENT MUST BE SIGNED & TURNED IN

As long as weather permits, the Volleyball group will
be meeting every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Holland

participating in both the D&W Fresh Market and Family

We will not being doing “Rake

to “adopt a lawn” for someone
in need.
