1. The Reality Theory Approach
 1) Establish an authentic relationship with your student.
 2) Get the student to evaluate present behavior and
decide how well it is working for them in meeting their
needs and values.
 3) Students must lay out positive plans of action with
easily achievable steps.
 4) Students must commit by documenting and signing
their plan.
 5) If it doesn’t work, revise the plan, rather than make
excuses. Never give up!
 6) Students must see, feel, and hear the consequences
of their actions.
 7) Reward successes.
