proportion and the overall look you're aiming

3. Have your framework twist and turn slightly - each spoke representing a pointy
segment on the blade of your leaf. The grey dots are added these to mark off a
relative distance for 'just how far' you might want your curves to go back into the
center point.
4. Second Step - Draw Your Leaf!
A simple way to go about it is to begin by
drawing a simple stem. Stylise it to look how
you want it to. Do this first and then draw the
leaf itself.
In the steps below, carefully sketch in the 'ins
and outs' of your maple leaf. Experiment with
different lines, keeping things 'somewhat
symmetrical' each part of the left half of the
leaf complimenting its opposite part on the
right side.
