The consumerization of IT forces IT providers/departments to think differently. Employees want to use similar features and devices at the office like they are using at home. Increasingly these are features provided from the cloud, which enables the user to have access to everything, from anywhere, at any time. Are you ready for this? 2. 1. The cloud is the key to success Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer made clear they are “all-in” the cloud. The Azure platform and services like Windows Intune and Office 365 prove they are serious about it. And there’s a lot more to come.

3. 2. Microsoft believes in their leadership $ 9,5 billion make Microsoft the biggest investor in the industry. The success of Office and Windows make them feel confident about the future in the Cloud. Besides Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8 are expected to be new winners.

4. 3. Windows Office 365 important starting point In June Office 365 has been released. Every 25 seconds a new company starts using it. It enables companies to offer reliable and secure e-mail, document sharing and communication with ease.

5. 4. PC Management and Security in the Cloud - Windows Intune The increasing mobility of employees, multiple locations, mergers & acquisitions make companies are facing a serious PC management and security challenge. Windows Intune offers the latest Windows 7 OS with desktop security and remote maintenance.

6. 5. Phone 7 still small, but not for long “We’ve gone from very small to very small, but it’s been a heck of a year”, joked Steve Ballmer. But they love “Mango” more than “Apple”. The Nokia deal is supposed to have a big impact. It alone should result in 100 million new Phones a year. The WP7 Cloud integration is impressive, it brings Office to your phone!

Windows XP, Office 2003 and IE6 are declared dead Microsoft’s COO Kevin Turner was really clear about it: “We love those products, we absolutely love those products, they’ve been so good to so many people, including the people in this room. But you know what? They are dead. End of life is 2014”

8. 7. HTML5 the new industry standard For Rich Internet Applications HTML5 is the way to go for UI development. Silverlight will remain supported because of Windows Phone. For desktop development it is still a powerful solution.

9. 8. Lync offers impressive communication power Enabling users to communicate inside and outside their own organisation. Skype integration predicted but depening on regulatory approval.

10. 9. Bing is developing fast The Bing search marketshare is about 30%. Many impressive features will appear to make Bing the ultimate multi media decision making platform based on geographical and social relevant data. Voice controlled on the Xbox as well!

11. 10. Consumerization of IT and the impact on business Winning in the consumer market is key. Consumers will define the future services businesses will use. Xbox / Kinect and WP7 are the main targets.
