2. A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your
rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs
over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the
LORD Forever
3. Am I the captain of my ship
Master of my soul
Or is there a greater power
Someone else playing a role
4. Am I the shepherd of my flock
Like I have always been told
Or is there another force guiding the fold
Through summer heat and winter cold
5. Am I destined in this life
To sail the stormy seas of strife
On the sails of fickle fate
Never knowing the time nor date
Calamity may befall
Even though I gave it my all
6. Am I like the sheep that has gone astray
That is lost and can not find his way
Yearning for the Master's call
To be put back behind that wall
To that pasture where I belong
Where to us he sings his song
7. Am I hovering on the brink
We are never in control like we may think
For though I am the captain, my ship may sink
And the shepherd of the fold
Is a worthwhile and lofty goal
But alas, I am only pretending to be bold
8. Am I leading others
When really I am lost
The cost of pride takes us on a ride
Don't let the Devil decide
9. For only God is the captain of the sea
And shepherd of all that is or ever will be
I no longer ask "am I" or think about me
It's all in his hands for eternity
I am his lamb
Forever and always, I am.
