Anime Expo Returns to Los Angeles July 1-4
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation returns to
Los
Angeles for the fourth consecutive year to host Anime Expo 2011, the
nation's largest anime and manga convention. The four-day gathering,
which attracts thousands of enthusiasts and industry professionals, will
take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, NOKIA Theatre and Club
Nokia July 1-4 and is expected to have a $24 million economic impact
citywide.
"Anime Expo has a tremendous and enthusiastic following among consumers
and those working in the industry," said Mark Liberman, president and
CEO of LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We're
extremely pleased to welcome back the Society for the Promotion of
Japanese Animation to Los Angeles, where animation is one of the leading
industries."
More than 100,000 people are expected to gather in Los Angeles for the
event, with a total of 6,000 room nights needed to house attendees at a
variety of Downtown Manga Forums properties, including the Westin Bonaventure Hotel
Suites, Figueroa Hotel, JW Marriott Hotel, Hilton Checkers Los Angeles,
Kawada Hotel, The Los Angeles Athletic Club, Luxe City Center, Marriott
Los Angeles Downtown, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, Omni
Los Angeles Hotel, Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown, and Wilshire Grand
Hotel Los Angeles.

The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation, which first
launched Anime Expo in 1992, is a non-profit organization whose mission
is to popularize and educate the American public on Japanese animation
and comics, more widely known as anime and manga, as well as provide a
forum to facilitate communication between the professionals and tens of
thousands of fans. The annual Anime Expo helps to further foster trade,
commerce and the interests of the general public and animation industry
and serves as a key meeting place for the general public and those
working in the industry.
