This document presents ways to use Google Spreadsheets and Forms for educational purposes in the classroom. It provides examples of how teachers can use these tools for collaborative lesson planning, tracking student homework, conducting student surveys, and formative and summative assessments. The document encourages teachers to start simply and not try to learn everything at once. It emphasizes that cloud computing allows information and work to be accessed from anywhere as long as an internet connection is available.

What if you could work on a file in one class, access it on a different computer in another class, then work on it at home... without flash drives or re-downloading different files? What if the barriers to digital access were reduced dramatically?

They can collaborate and work on instantly-updated files whether they are sitting next to each other or not. What happens when one is sick? Or if they were in different classes? Or if the project is assigned over Spring Break?

36. Formative and Summative Assessments Use Google Forms to give your students a pre-assessment at the beginning of class. Modify your instruction based on the results.
