Sketch design - apartment & bike shop (de Pijp, Amsterdam)

The design proposes a strong functionalistic spatial scheme with maximum contact with the outside space.
Dwelling occurs in designated boxes and circulation finds place next to and on top of them.

Sketch design - café restaurant & hovercraft terminal (‘t IJ, Amsterdam)

The main sluice for maintaining Amsterdam’s water level is also a infrastructural node for industrial and
recreational transport over water and land. These settings culminate in a landmark building that houses a
café restaurant and hovercraft stop on the island next to the sluice.

Het element zal bestaan uit een frame van staalframe bouw met daar tussen in steenwol isola
vloer wordt afgewerkt met een multiplexplaat, aan de onderkant van de staalframe profielen w
een 8mm multiplexplaat bevestigd om de isolatie op zijn plek te houden en voor extra stabilite
muren worden ook met multiplex afgewerkt, het plafond wordt afgewerkt met een dubbele gip
De staalframe profielen voor de vloer en de muur zijn 70mm breed, voor het plafondis een pro
van 50mm gekozen. Hierdoor hebben de vloer en de wand een totaal dikte van 111mm (inclus
15mm stelruimte)en het plafond een dikte van 98mm (inclusief 15mmstelruimte) de netto inh
van de woningen zal na het plaatsen van dit systeem 2411mm zijn.

Het systeem zorgt voor zowel
thermische- als geluidisolatie. Alle
leidingen van installaties en
dergelijke zijn in de wanden van dit
systeem weggewerkt, waardoor
deze niet meer in het zicht lopen.

Restoration & Transformation Bijlmerflat Daalwijk (Amsterdam ZO)

Amsterdam’s Modernist Banlieu the Bijlmer has been considered a social failure and is undergoing a mas-
sive urban transformation. By demolishing most of the monotonous 10-storey flats and the addition of low
rise small scaled-housing, differentiation and human scale is being restored.
Our appeal is to salvage several Bijlmer flats as monumental pieces and restore them to present living
standards by implementing insulating and acoustic box-in-box units.

Science Museum for Children (Delft-zuid)

Design proposal for a children’s science museum (Kind Interactief Wetenschappelijk Instituut - KIWI)
where a open museum space is divided over 3 floors and a tower. All floors are visually interconnected by
a huge void along the cascading roof. The tower looks over the polder that seperates Delft and Rotterdam.

Omni-directional living (Delft)

The soon upcoming plan of submerging the train tracks in the center of Delft, create space for an urban
park strip (by Joan Busquets) and a landmark building at the start. This design elongates the park strip
and permits continuation between two round towers where omni-directional living is possible.

Robert Ryman Pavillion (Insel Hoimbroich, GER)

Design for a pavillion for the art of minimalist painter Robert Ryman. The collection of differ in size from
20x20 cm to 300 x 400 cm and according to those dimensions the pavillion also houses different sized
exposition spaces. An innovative roof system was concipiated suiting the tordated roof that consists of a
triple layered ETFE foil air cushion, combined with a chamber of water (for heating / cooling).

Research in Belgian urban Sprawl and urban transformation of the city center of Beveren, a satellite city of
Antwerp. The architectural design represents the more compact city block in available left-over spaces to
reduce urban sprawl.
