This Project is funded by the EU
SMEs play an increasingly important role in the
"research to innovation chain".
By the end of September 2012, SMEs made up 18.5%
of all participations on the Cooperation programme.
74.5% of all projects involve at least one SME and
11.1% of all the projects have an SME as its
coordinator.
Around 11,000 SMEs were involved in the Cooperation
Programme with a budget share of 16.3 %.

16. Capacities - Research for the benefit of SMEs
This Project is funded by the EU

innovation.
- Research performing SMEs who need to complement
their core research activities through outsourcing.
- It focuses on outsourcing research by SMEs to
specialised 'RTD performers' (universities, research
centres,…)
- It needs at least 3 SMEs and 2 RTD performers
