neration, treatment and use of these energy sources is a special
service focus that generates state-of-art high-tech solutions through
strategic networking of research, laboratories and engineering at
PROFACTOR. It helps to fulfil the requirement expressed by in-
creasing numbers of companies for alternative energy sources
(with the benefit of reducing CO2 emissions) and of achieving
a supply situation that is sustainable in the long term.
A multidisciplinary team of biotechnologists, chemists and process
engineers guarantees our partner companies an advantage with
efficient production and use of gaseous energy carriers such as bio-

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LEADING
Our research team grasps new ideas and develops
methods and equipment for the production of gase-
ous energy carriers via biological processes: for
example, maximizing the extraction of methane or
hydrogen from organic wastes. Undesirable com-
ponents such as hydrogen sulfide or siloxanes are
separated by means of biological methods.
