Introduction








Most of the people like to watch scientists are
solving the case with the help of some bits like
hair , fibre, blood and even finger prints.
Now a days these are the crucial techniques
for solving mysterious murders and experts
are even trying for getting clues for people who
murdered
It applies the knowledge and technology of
science to define and enforce laws.
“forensic” comes from the Latin word “forensis”
meaning the “forum”
Definition and History








It has many definitions but it has a blind definition
that the application of scientific methodology to
solve legal problems, in other words it bring many
fields of science
Centuries back the forensic science has been
derived by solving mysterious cases.
Sir Arthur canon popularised with his fiction
character Sherlock Holmes in mid 18th century
Orfilla , he is the person who we called as father
of forensic science because of his first laboratory
on science
(Cont…)




Many other scientists are well known for
different departments in forensic science
mostly on 18-19th centuries.
Hoover, who is the director of FBI was
serviced about 50 years in forensic department
and work for US government.
Departments










It has so many sub departments or sub
sciences to study and investigate mainly these
are the major departments
Finger prints- by galton in 19th century
Document examination- by osborn in 19th
century
Bloodstain identification- by lattes in 19th
century
Toxicology- by orfilla in 19th century
Dna and fingerprints, etc.
Work techniques






For any a crime scene there are some thing to
identify and trace out, there are some techniques
to study and get a result, these techniques are old
but developed by modern sciences
It is a step by step process which follows locard’s
exchange principle named as “every contact
leaves a trace”.
For every investigation, the first step is to trace
out the evidence at the spot, later on prepare a
documentation and process on it in lab and submit
the results in court or law.
Law definitions






Computer crime- the crime related to the
computer work like hacking or manipulating the
data base or stealing and selling to third parties,
these are state specific and had a punishment of
computer fraud act of 1986 by global law.
Case law- created by local judges and brought a
amendment of criminal law to make for different
punishments.
Every state government has different laws for
issuing punishments and implementing on it,
mostly the forensic department work is to submit
the reports to the courts.
Milestones






In 18th century locardo has implement the
forensic science laboratory
Many different scientists are work on different
platforms on forensic and many machines and
computer detection techniques are
implemented and still implementing at present.
In 19th century the US govt by FBI declared
this forensic is a subject to study and work for
investigation and still this process is going
on…
People On Career






Many young generation are now interested to
work on forensic, and many study courses are
now available to study and to start practise
Detective agencies are getting fast to work on
forensic and many police and legal workers
are working on forensic
There is a valid certification and experience to
start a practise and salary or pay is based on
work and crime things.
End Of The Beginning






On the next presentation we will see a specific
department of forensic and how it works on
crime scene
We will also discuss on law methods for a
crime
And also check out the various techniques and
machines to work and to get a result
