Will tsunami hit Southern Borneo Island?
I live in the southern part of Borneo (Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia). I heard tsunami will hit the
northern part of Borneo and Indonesia, we’re in between those two areas so wonder if it will
reach my place.

When you think of Borneo what do you imagine it to be like?
Did you know there are 2 cities in Borneo (and when i say cities I mean Malls, cinemas, Proper
roads and all that jazz) KK and Kuching?
There are no anacondas in Borneo. Completely different continent actually. Don’t believe the
movies.
Borner is shared by 3 countries Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia.
There are no Volcanoes in Borneo. Barely even any Earthquakes. (Saw this in a batman
cartoon)

People living up in the tree, people running around in loinclothes and holding spears,
headhunters, giant pythons, crocodiles (Bujang Senang kin),scorpions etc ?
Just kidding … For me, Borneo is one of the last places on earth that is blessed with beautiful
natural scenery or landscape … Of course they have cities in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu … There
is this 1-Borneo mall that will open soon by end May 2008 in Kota Kinabalu that can compete
even with MidValley … Plus Sabah is the Land Below The Wind and Sarawak is Land of the
Hornbills … Brunei…. Mmm … I dunno … So, Sabah and Sarawak are already modern but with
many rich heritage.
I was surprised the first time I visited Sabah and Sarawak but not any more … I am fascinated
now with Sabah … Lol … Pesta Menuai and Hari Gawai is end of this week and I think I go over
with Air Asia to see the cultural dances etc … Lol

It is possible to go from Malacca to Borneo by ferry?
I am planing to ride along Malaysia and I would like to pass from Malacca peninsula to Kuching
loading my bike on a ferry. It is possible to do it? From where?
There is any web site where I can eventually find some more details?

There are no commercial ferry services as such, but private shipping lines may take you on as a
special passenger, but it won’t be a short-time journey….. The best option is to keep your bike in
West Malaysia and buy a new bike in East Malaysia…..after your stint in East Malaysia, sell your
bike an retrieve your former bike in West Malaysia….. Google for Bike riding clubs or
associations in Malaysia – they may be able to help. [motor bike or bicycle ?]. Transporting your
bike by air-cargo may be costly, but if you talk to them, they may be able to sponsor you, if you
are willing to carry their banner ……

And how much does it cost to take the train from Bangkok to the north of Peninsular Malaysia?
Is it possible to fly from Bangkok to Borneo Malaysia? Like Kuching? If so, how much are the

that might change based on day/time you want to fly. Also try Kayak.com – they’ve got flights
for $230.
Malaysia Airlines (malaysiaairlines.com) has flights from Bangkok to Kuching (with a stopover in
Kuala Lampur) for 7603 Baht ($199.18 US).
