Cuti-cuti Malaysia: Penang Holiday
Visit Kuala Lumpur http://klsentral.org

Maria asks…

Don’t you think repairs, maintenance inspections, etc. should be
done before any holiday period….?
For example:-
1. Penang Hill….inspection during the Raya holidays?
2. Penang Bridge Cameras…..temporarily shut down?….LOLS….
3. Roads….so normal, yes?…..*sigh*

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

Yeah, i think it is pretty stupid for them to be doing maintenance now,, where people come to
penang for holiday.
It is really frustrating. If they do proper preventive maintenance for your number 1 example, then
they wont have to do the inspection during the heavy rain.

Im just playing scrabble at home.

                                                                                            1/6
Sandra asks…

How much currency are you allowed to take to Malaysia?
I am going to Penang in malaysia on holiday and have been told there’s a limit on how much
money you’re allowed to take, someone told me around £150 worth of RM but someone else
told me it was more like £1500 worth. Does anyone know the answer to this or where i can find
out for certain?

Chris asks…

What is it that attracts you to come for holidays in Penang and
why?
Surveys on our lovely island …Penang

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

For us, it was simply a case of Penang being easily accessible from KL. It was a short flight and
a complete change from the vibrancy of the city. We chose Penang- The Pearl of The Orient
because we liked the idea of the beach at Batu Ferringhi, the lovely hotels (we chose
Shangri-las Rasa Sayang Resort).
While we were there, we relaxed, shopped in the colourful street market at night, ate in the
wonderful restaurants and hawker food stalls (which were fantastic and very reasonably priced).
We also went up Penang Hill, went into Georgetown, Kek Lok Si, Dhammikarama, and the
reclining Buddah temple to name only a few of the amazing sights we saw. It was truly a
wonderful holiday and we can’t wait to go back!

                                                                                           3/6
The people, the culture, the climate were the total package- we absolutely loved Penang and
would highly reccommend it as a definite choice for an excellent holiday experience.

Lizzie asks…

Holiday recommendations for Malaysia?
Heading to Malaysia for my honeymoon in January, so far I want to go to Penang and
Langkawi. Any other recommendations of where to go, what to do, what to see, etc, would be
greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

In Langkawi, perhaps you can get on a charter plane to circle the island to get an experience of
bird eye view of the 99 islands of Langkawi. Also get onto boat and enjoy scuba diving or
snorkeling.

Penang is a place where you can get a chance to see diversity of Malaysia culture.

How about adding Cameron Highland to your list.
It’s a wonderful peaceful place for honeymooners too.
A place of tea plantation, strawberry farms, rose garden and everything nice.

                                                                                           4/6
Http://www.cameronhighlandsresort.com/

East Coast is never less. White sandy beach, unique culture and more islands to explore.

Don’t forget to spend you last dime in Kuala Lumpur!
A shopping heaven.

Robert asks…

Penang Georgetown – Sunway Hotel?
Having holiday with my friend next week. All of us are first time visit to Penang (free and
easy).

Staying at Sunway Hotel, wanted to know any nearby malls and place for good food within
walking distance.

Heard about Gurney Drive but kinda like too far away from our hotel.
Would like to have more details before we head off.
Any website for me to have the full details?

Also planning to visit the Chinese Temples, not sure if it’s too far for our hotel or…

Anyone knows whom can help.. tks.

                                                                                              5/6
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

                                   1) prangin mall (shopping and quite affordable price. Gurney is more expensive) and very near
                                   to your hotel.

                                   2) gama (quite old but also a shopping mall)

                                   3) eden hutton lane restaurant at hutton road. Near penang road. (good western food and
                                   affordable price).

                                   4) a kopitiam (food centre etc) near umno building. A lot of choices of foods
