The earliest surviving record of observation dates from 364
BC, based on comments by Chinese astronomer Gan De in a star
catalogue. By 28 BC, Chinese astronomers were regularly recording them
in official imperial records.
The first clear mention of it in Western literature, around 300 BC, was by
the ancient Greek scholar Theophrastus, student of Plato and Aristotle
and successor to the latter. A more recent observation was made on 17
March 807 AD by the Benedictine monk Adelmus however, he incorrectly
concluded he was observing a transit of Mercury. Many later observations
were also misinterpreted as planetary transits, until Galileo gave the
correct explanation in 1612.

It was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege,
Mexican troops under President General Antonio L´opez de Santa Anna
launched an assault on the Mission near San Antonio de B´exar
(modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), killing all of the Texian
defenders. Santa Anna’s cruelty during the battle inspired many
Texians-both Texas settlers and adventurers from the United States-to join
the Texian Army. Buoyed by a desire for revenge, the Texians defeated the
Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the
revolution.
It has been immortalised by numerous works-books, songs, TV,
movies-since 1843. However, most people are only familiar with the myths
spread by many of the movie and television adaptations.

Okabe who, along with his friends, manage to invent a microwave that can
send text messages into the past, allowing him to travel between alternate
worlds. X makes heavy use of the legend of Y.
Y is the name used on several bulletin boards during 2000 and 2001 by a
poster claiming to be a time traveler from 2036. In these posts, Y made
numerous predictions about events in the near future, a number of them
vague and some quite specific, starting with events in 2004. He described a
drastically changed future in which the United States had broken into five
smaller regions, the environment and infrastructure had been devastated
by a nuclear attack, and most other world powers had been destroyed.

According to the Auschwitz Museum, he had 1500 sets of twins in

X is a British television anthology series created by Charlie Brooker that
features speculative fiction with dark and sometimes satirical themes that
examine modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated
consequences of new technologies. Each episode has a different cast, a

Charlie Brooker explained the series’ title to The Guardian, noting: “If
technology is a drug - and it does feel like a drug - then what, precisely,
are the side-effects? This area - between delight and discomfort - is where
X, my new drama series, is set. The ’X’ of the title is the one you’ll find
on every wall, on every desk, in the palm of every hand: the cold, shiny
screen of a TV, a monitor, a smartphone.”

Rongorongo is a system of glyphs discovered in the 19th century that

As European-introduced diseases and raids by Peruvian slavers, including a
final devastating raid in 1862 and a subsequent smallpox epidemic, had
reduced the language speaking population to under two hundred by the
1870s, it is possible that literacy had been wiped out by the time tablets

human history. Which language/What place?

“X, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People” is a play by Y. First performed
on 14 February 1895 at the St James’s Theatre in London, it is a farcical
comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personae to escape
burdensome social obligations. Working within the social conventions of
late Victorian London, the play’s major themes are the triviality with which
it treats institutions as serious as marriage, and the resulting satire of
Victorian ways. Contemporary reviews all praised the play’s humour,
though some were cautious about its explicit lack of social messages, while
others foresaw the modern consensus that it was the culmination of Y’s
artistic career so far. Its high farce and witty dialogue have helped make X
Y’s most enduringly popular play. It has been adapted several times for
television, radio and film.
