The Tangier-Med Port is the Tangier-Mediterranean project that is a strategic priority for the economic and social development of the North Morocco region. It is part of the economic policy orienting Morocco towards exports, based on eight clearly identified export sectors, with particular emphasis on the free trade agreement with the European Union to be implemented between 2000 and 2012 .

3. Introduction The Tangier-Mediterranean project is a strategic priority for the economic and social development ofthe North Morocco region. It is part of the economic policy orienting Morocco towards exports, based on identified export sectors, with particular emphasis on the free trade agreement with the European Union .This project will have important economic effects in terms of jobs, moreover, it will face a lot of challenges .

B .Major Shipping lines Its particular position on the Straits of Gibraltar, at the crossing of two major maritime routes, and 15km from the European Union will enable to serve a market of hundreds of millions of consumers through free zones which will be run by well-known private operators. Regular services are owned by various ship owners out of tangier med to over 50 ports in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Terminals with containers: Both terminals with containers of the port(bearing) Tangier Med, endowed with a shelf space of 1600 meter quay(platform) with drafts of 16 and 18 m, covering a total surface of 80 hectares, counted about 3 million containers. The terminals will receive up to 4 great ships are equipped with 50 porticoes (gantries) with wheel (RTG) and 16 porticoes (gantries) alongside the quay. Of a height of more than 80 meters, porticoes (gantries) alongside the quay, of a capacity of lifting of more than 50 tons, with productivity from 25 to 30 movements per hour.

The geographical position , the agreement ,investments, and co operations from different world sea companies will open The Moroccan businesses on the sea world trade specially with the wide globalization strategy.
