Pre-Printed Labelling Service
Our entire range of labels can be supplied and delivered direct to site pre-printed. Simply send the information to be printed
electronically (Word or Excel) to our in-house production facility and, dependant on quantity required, delivery should take place
within 24 - 48 hours. Information can be typed and printed from drawings by arrangement.
Dual Language Labels and Signs
As a manufacturer, DOTgroup International has the flexibility to produce dual language labels, signs and pipeline identification tape
and has the in-house facility to translate most languages. Please contact us with any enquiries which require bespoke dual language
labels, signs or pipeline identification tape.
DOTgroup Purchasing Software
DOTlabel Creator is a bespoke purchasing software written and produced by DOTgroup International for the Terminal 5 project
at Heathrow. It enables Engineers to select the label required, enter the information to be printed, including a sequential numbering
facility, and email it direct to our production facility with a copy direct to the clients purchasing department.

cable markers on the market today is the DOTcard System. Printing up to

are manufactured from the same specially formulated Nylon / ABS compound as our range

DOT-FCM – Flexible Cable Markers
Product Overview
An alternative to the DOTcard System is the easy to print DOT-FCM Flexible Cable
Markers, which are made from a high quality LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), UV Stable
and Fire Retardant material.
The DOT-FCM Flexible Cable Markers are manufactured by DOTgroup International in a
continuous format and are printed via the DOT-FCM / Shrink System printer. The
continuous format of these cable markers compliment our range of DOTshrink Heatshrink
Tubing and allows users to produce high numbers, over 4,700 per hour, of high quality
cable markers quickly and efficiently. The centred gap ensures the labels are positioned and
printed correctly every time, while the perforations between each label keep them
together until they are torn apart and installed, minimising lost labels.
The DOT-FCM Flexible Cable Markers are manufactured in two widths (13mm and 27mm),
two lengths (76mm and 102mm) and are available in both yellow and white as standard .
All combinations of widths and lengths are available ex-stock. Other colours can be made

The DOT-FCM / Shrink System printer is a reliable, easy to use thermal transfer printer, which offers users high speed, high

• For larger diameters the DOT-POK marker is used in conjunction with the
DOT-POH and DOT-PKH carrier strips, which means that any size of cable
or pipe can be marked.

DOTcard System - DOTcard2130 Core Idents
Product Overview
The DOTcard2130 two-part sleeve and core ident system is probably the most popular way
of identifying instrumentation wiring across the world today.
The system is made up of a transparent sleeve, the DOTsleeve, which has one recess for the
wire and one recess for the DOTcard2130 core ident. No more having to disconnect and
retest the circuit to change a heat shrunk or non-heat shrunk rubber label or other type of
marker, simply slide the old label out then slide the new label in.
The DOTcard2130 core identification system can print up to 7,200 core idents per hour and
works with the same thermal printer and DOTlabel Software as the DOTcable marking
system.The software enables you to import information direct from Word and Excel, saving
enormous amounts of labour time and money in reduced production times.

DOTsleeve21 or DOTsleeve30 Transparent Sleeves
Product Overview
The transparent DOTsleeve has two recesses, one for the wire and one for the label.The DOTcard2130 core identification system has two
distinct advantages over other systems available on the market today.The first being that should the core ident require changing after the
wire has been connected, simply slide the old label out before sliding the new one in.There’s no need to disconnect and retest the circuit.
The second advantage is that should the information to be printed onto the DOTcard2130 core idents not be available at the time the
Engineers are ready to connect the wires and test the circuit, the Engineers can simply slide the DOTsleeves into place, connect the wires
and test the circuit and the printed core ident can be slid into the DOTsleeve as and when the information becomes available.This cannot
be done if a heatshrink labelling system is being used.
Both the DOTsleeve21 and the DOTsleeve30 are available in a range of core diameters (see table below) and are manufactured from a
flexible PVC for ease of installation.All sizes of the DOTsleeves are ex-stock and available for immediate despatch.

DOTshrink System – HeatshrinkTubing
Product Overview
The DOTshrink System range of heatshrink marker sleeves offer clients a
convenient and cost-effective way of identifying cores and cables
permanently, even in tough industrial environments.
Manufactured from flame retarded military grade Polyolefin, DOTshrink
marker sleeves meet the requirements of a wide range of industrial and high
technical standards and are also very versatile through excellent balance of
chemical, electrical and mechanical properties.
The operating temperature range of DOTshrink marker sleeves is –55˚C to
+135˚C, they are unaffected by water and offer excellent resistance to
commonly encountered industrial chemicals.
DOTshrink System marker sleeves are supplied on continuous spools of up
to 30 metres and printed via our DOT-FCM / Shrink System thermal
transfer printer. The pre-formatted, user-friendly DOTlabel Software allows
information to be imported direct from Word or Excel, as well as having an
automatic sequencing feature.
The advantage of producing DOTshrink
marker sleeves on a continuous spool is

Product Overview
The DOT-heavy-duty Pipeline Identification Tape is exactly as its name suggests, heavy-duty,
long-lasting tape, which is designed and manufactured to endure arduous conditions.The
industry was calling out for a product, which could not only stand up to the extreme weather
conditions of the North Sea, but also have a temperature performance capable of performing
in diverse climatic variations worldwide.
The outdoor heavy-duty Pipeline Identification Tape has been accepted into the industry as
clients found the existing products available i.e. PVC tapes and tape machines, were unable to
compete with the performance and life expectancy of this product.The product is factory
made to order and can be supplied in various formats.The format takes into account two
very important factors, safety and installation.
Safety
The format has continuous arrows and reverse wording and British Standard colouring.This
enables the Pipeline Identification Tape to be seen and read from whatever direction you look
at the pipe work. For overseas projects this also has proved successful, as we are able to
print dual languages on the same heavy-duty tape.
Installation
The other advantage of having continuous arrows and wording is the time and labour saved on installation time.This is
achieved by not having to line up the directional arrows and wording, and having to cut the tape at a certain length to not
overlap and distort the existing wording. With our heavy-duty Pipeline Identification Tape manufactured with the wording,
arrows, colours and backing sheet all on one roll, these problems do not occur, and installation is fast, precise, clear and
above all, safe.
Benefits
The DOT-heavy-duty Pipeline Identification Tape has considerable advantages over other forms of marking process pipe
work. Detailed below are some of the benefits that can be achieved by using the product.
Low Chloride Level’s - from experience we found that this is a very important issue and a huge
benefit to you the client.The product does not affect stainless steel, causing no corrosion etc, and it
can be applied directly onto the pipe work, which means that the product is flat to the surface and
there will be no build up of salt or dirt under the identification tape. In the long term this means
that the maintenance of this product is minimal when compared to a banded or snap on product.
Backing Sheet - ideal when applying to narrow pipe work, this saves time on installation as the
product can be slid in between the pipes without adhering, so can be cut to the required length
and then applied simply and quickly.
Temperature Performance - minus 40°C to +150°C (minus 40° to +300°F) so works well in
either extreme cold or hot environments.
Dual Language - the product can be supplied in any language or a mixture of two languages,
which is ideal for locations where English is not the first spoken language.
Water, Chemical and Humidity Resistant - tape not affected by Oil, Petroleum, Detergent /
Water, Sulphuric Acid, Bleach / Water,Washer Solution and Ethylene Glyco / Water.
High Strength Acrylic Adhesive - provides permanence, high adhesion to metals, plastics and
painted surfaces, excellent long-term ageing and resists flagging and edge-lifting on flat or curved
smooth surfaces.

The Product:
Our engraving material is made by applying a micro thin layer of ink colour, protected by a coating, to a plastic
base sheet.The base sheet largely controls the physical properties of the finished label.The base and cap, as well
as the foils, have been tested for flammability by Underwriters Laboratories, and are rated 94 HB on the
American UL 94 test.The foil was judged as not contributing to the combustion of the base material.
The rear of the label is covered with a 0.21mm thick self-adhesive polyester film, which is coated on both sides
with a heavy mass of a transparent high performance, high tack modified acrylic adhesive.
It has an operating temperature range of –30° to +150° Celsius, and can be applied at as low as +5° Celsius.This
gives a wide range of conditions under which the product can be used.
The adhesive will retain its specified performance in respect of peel
and shear strength for a period of ten years in a typical computer
room environment.This assumes relatively constant temperatures in
the range of 15° to 23° Celsius and relatively constant humidity in
the range 40% to 60% RH.
It is also suitable for external use and as a result of our tests and
practical experience, we expect this product to last for at least 10
years when used correctly in a typical Northern European climate.

Physical Testing of LMM-6000 Laser Marks
• Laser marks were made on type 304 stainless steel tags using LMM-6000 and a CO2
Laser.
• Marks were made at settings of 100% power, 12% speed, 500 DPI on a 35 watt Universal Laser
• Tags were totally immersed in the test solutions.
Notes:
Hydrochloric acid testing:
• Acid dissolves the steel tag and was not run over 12 hours long
• After 1 hour acid dissolved 0.2767 grams off of steel tag (4.7%), laser mark was unaffected.
• After 12 hours acid dissolved 1.8057 grams off of steel tag (30.6%), laser mark was unaffected, now having a
• distinctly raised feel.
Sulfuric acid testing: Acid discolours at approximately 96 hours, mark appears to be slightly discoloured.

There are three standard DOT Concrete Cable Cover sizes details of
which are shown in the table below.
Unit Selection
Care should be taken in selecting the cover size, in that the cover should be wider than
the service line over which it is to be placed.
Installation
The installation of Concrete Cable Covers is a simple operation.The covers should be placed on a bed of sand or clean fill,
directly along the buried service line (the depth of bed to suit application).
DOT Concrete Cable Cover Sizes
The Quality Management Systems and Procedures have been
approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd to BS EN ISO
9001:2000.The Hydraulically Pressed Reinforced Pre-cast

DOT Specials
DOTgroup were specified by a major client to supply the following concrete blocks to a project in Russia.
The 9” x 9” dual language laser engraved stainless steel signs were also supplied with the concrete blocks,
which were also manufactured by DOTgroup.The concrete blocks were manufactured to the size, colour
and in accordance with the specifications supplied by the client.

DOT Terminal Blocks
SAK conductor connectors – synonymous with reliable
connections and product variety.
Many years of market experience have resulted in a constant stream of new
improvements. No terminal in the world embodies such know-how as the SAK.
Thus, the unassuming insulated unit with “clamping function” for the conductor
conceals a wealth of sound knowledge and broad experience as the terminals
have to cope with a wide variety of adverse conditions on a daily basis.
The connection systems are chosen according to the application in question.

Dekafix (DEK)
Dekafix (DEK) markers are intended for use with Weidmüller SAK and Z series terminals.They lie flush with the tag recess,
thus ensuring an optimal and secure fit on the terminal.The Dekafix marker is the universal marker for terminals and plug-in
connectors as well as electronic modules from the Weidmüller product range. Dekafix provides you with a wide range of
standard printing options.The system is particularly suitable for short sequences of numbers and is also available with
customer specific printing.

WS markers are ideally suited for the W range of wiring connectors (WS = W series strips).The large

WS markers are designed specifically for W series terminals. But thanks to their system
compatibility,WS markers can also be used with the I series, Z series and P series.The generous
size of these markers permit long character strings and multiple-line printing.WS markers are ideal
for labelling where long, individual character strings are required and the proven MultiCard format
makes labelling possible with the SMark-Laser, PrintJet, MCP Plus Plotter or MC-Mobilo as well.

ZS Markers
ZS markers in MultiCard format have been specifically designed for use with the Z series. Due to their folding mechanism
they offer an additional large marker surface for compact terminals of the Z series.This means that the marker surface can
be folded upwards if necessary, thus allowing easy access to cross connectors. Removal of the marker is not necessary.
Depending on the length of the tag, 6 - 9 standard font characters can be printed onto it.

MultiFit Markers
