This would be a great application
for me if I ever travel out of the
country. It stood out to me
because I can now translate
anything from English to any
other language. I think this is an
incredibly useful app. And I plan
to use it when traveling to
translate just about anything! It is
a nice tool to use even if you are
in the country but need to
translate for someone. This
Application would come in handy
when dining out in a foreign
country, to say, order your meal.
And can be used for many other
things as well.
3. Favorite Technologies
Blogger
• Blogging with Blogger was a
interesting new feature I enjoyed.
Using Blogger I could post
pictures of myself and family, RSS
feeds for the latest news and
headlines, and of course, update
my Blog! I plan to continue to use
Blogger to just play around with
new features that I can add to my
own personal Blog. The thing that
stood out the most with this was
the different applications you can
add to Blogger. That, and it is
something I find more interesting
than just using Facebook.

Wolfram Alpha

Wolfram Alpha was of great interest to me,
when discovering this site it just blew me
away what you an ask on Wolfram Alpha and
it gives you a factual answer, to anything! It
was just an awesome new site to learn
about. I really enjoyed looking up my name,
and also seeing how bad my vision really is. It
stood out to me the most of everything else
in this class, because it is something I have
never seen before. I had no idea that there
was a site like this out there! I will be using
this site in the future if I have any questions
about anything! I have turned several others
on to this site as well, and they also love it! I
wish I would have known of this site when I
needed help in all of my math courses, but I
guess you discover new things in each course
you pursue in college. I will highly
recommend this site to anyone! It was a
really fun assignment!
5. Favorite Technologies
Flickr
• Flickr was very interesting to
me because I love taking
pictures, and love to share
them as well! This site is new
to me, but I have continued to
play around with it and upload
my photos and place tags on
my pictures. It will be useful to
me in the future as a new way
to share my pictures of my
daughter (which is in the
thousands) with others. I have
introduced quite a few others
to this site! I like this site a lot
better than Instagram!
6. Favorite Technologies
Linkedin
• I particularly loved learning about
this site. It stands out to me as a
great way to search for a new
career once I graduate. I
absolutely plan on using this site
to post my personal profile, which
will include my resume. This is a
great way for people to see all the
potential I have and what I can
offer their company. This is new
to me and an awesome , more
professional way of social
networking. Also seeing as how I
am not particularly fond of social
networking, this would have to be
one of the only social networking
sites that I would actually want to
use and be a part of.
7. Least Favorite Technologies
Delicious
• Delicious was one of my
least favorites because I am
not to fond of Social
Networking. So the idea of
“social bookmarking” did
not interest me to much. It
also seemed a little difficult
to understand exactly how
to bookmark the sites and
simply did not stand out to
me. I do like to Blog but, I
would not want to share my
Blog content on Social
media sites. I do not plan on
using this in the future.
8. Least Favorite Technologies
Twitter
• Twitter, just like the other popular
social networking sites are, well,
just not my thing. I do not like the
idea of posting my every move, or
reading others posts and lastly I
have no interest in “following”
anyone on the site. Again, I am
just not into the whole Twitter
and Facebook age. I do enjoy the
Web for its many other sites but, I
just like communicating with
others the old fashioned way, in
person. It just seems like these
sites get just a little too much
hype, if that makes any sense to
anyone else besides me!
9. Least Favorite Technologies
Sumopaint
• I did not like this site because it
for one did not “stand out” to
me. Also I would not have any
interest in editing my pictures
with all the features Sumopaint
had. I always keep my pictures
the way they are, I would not
want to upload any of my current
pictures to Sumopaint to edit
them. This particular site did not
appeal to me at all. Sure it would
be cool to others but this site was
just simply not my thing. It stood
out to me because I do not like
the idea of modifying my
personal photos through
Sumopaint.
10. Least Favorite Technologies
Google Docs
•
Google docs was also not a favorite
of mine. It was just a little confusing
when we were completing the
assignment. I felt like it was just a
difficult thing to do to add on to
someone else's story. It just did not
interest me. I did not like the fact of
sharing my documents with others,
nor the fact that they could possibly
use my document. They may or may
not use it for themselves, but you
never know. I just did not like using
Google docs, I felt as though it was
making my documents public, to
well, who knows? Again, that just
takes me back to my whole keeping
my things private deal. I just do not
like sharing anything over the
internet, unless it has to do with my
college activities.
11. Least Favorite Technologies
Alltop
• Alltop was just kind of a boring
site to me. Yeah I do like
keeping up on the latest news
but I like to gather it all on my
own time. Alltop put all my
“most interesting”podcasts,
and news feeds all in one
place. I did not like the fact
that it decides what I think is
important to see. It was not
my favorite assignment. Nor
did I like the way in which it
automatically organized my
“favorite” feeds. Maybe I want
to choose my own?
