Some house did not even had bathrooms or kitchens

Most people could not afford the house cause it was expensive to have people to carve stone into house

4. When Gothic came to America and was translated to Carpenter Gothic the stone tracery was replaced by wooden

ornate wooden detail is considered a folk art
the Charastic American Carpenter Gothic style is characterized by steep gables and pointed windows

5. Early Victorian structures were very simple but in later time they became more complicated
the end result would always be very stunning
Italianate style structures have flat roof lines, corniced eaves, angled bay windows and Corinthian-columned porches

6. Contemporary critics accuse the Victorians of needless complexity and clutter
Victorian architecture up to 1870 was thought by some

7. The latter part of the nineteenth century brought a new attitude toward color
Before then, the houses of the tract builders tended to be painted all one color, usually white, beige or gray
many people painted them in a lighter color

8. Many of these Victorian style homes still stand today
It is actually still a style that many people will follow
the Victorian architectural period mostly spans the period of mainly 1825-1900
