3. Everybody is a
genius. But if you
judge a fish by its
ability to climb a
tree it will live its
whole life believing
it is stupid.
- Albert Einstein
4. First Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your
hearts, and always be ready to give a
defense to everyone who asks you a reason
for the hope that is in you, with meekness
and fear.
(c) ESV
5. Psalm 139:14
I praise you, for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made. Wonderful are your
works; my soul knows it very well.
(c) NKJV
6. Did God Create?
Genesis 1-2 says “Yes!” However it is not
a scientific textbook that answers all the
questions we might ask about our
world and its formation.
Can our faith in God rest in the
Bible only? Yes!
Does science have to sufficiently
“fill-in-the-blanks” when God doesn’t
specifically answer our questions? No!
7. Creation Thoughts
Cosmological = God caused life
Teleological = Design equals intelligence
Morality = The Conscience of Humanity
Ontological = Why? Why not!
8. Cosmological
Something caused or continuously
causes the universe to exist, and this
first cause is God. All life we can
observe has a beginning, God does not.
So He is the first cause of all life.
See Psa 19:1; Rom 1:18-20.
9. Teleological
If there is order and arrangement then
there is design. If there is design there
must be a designer.
Definitions
Order = Regularity (24 hrs in a day)
Arrangement = Parts work together
Design = Purpose (Not w/o intelligence)
10. Morality
If the morality of an individual or a
society can be criticized as to being right
or wrong, then there must be a standard
higher than the morality we create. God
is the real, objective standard above our
morality. So God exists.
11. Ontological
How could a being have the concept of
God without God existing? He couldn’t
and wouldn’t, so God exists.
