A successful oil and gas executive with decades of experience, Charles Reed Cagle enjoys golfing in his free time. Charles Reed Cagle currently belongs to the Colorado Golf Association (CGA), a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the game of golf. In addition to helping young golfers develop their love and respect for the game, the CGA helps students cover the cost of tuition at the University of Colorado through its Evans Scholarships. One of the most prominent community outreach programs sponsored by the CGA, the Evans Scholarship provides over $60,000 in tuition if renewed every year. The scholarship gleans the majority of its funding from events such as the WGA-organized BMW Championship PGA Tour playoff, which takes place every year at a country club in Colorado. To earn consideration for the Evans Scholarship, applicants must demonstrate top academic performance, caddie records, leadership qualities, and sufficient financial need.
