2. Show No Partiality
• Show No partiality by wealth (4-7)
• Show No partiality by ethnicity, nationality,
etc.
• Show No partiality of sin
• You sin if you show partiality (9)
• Then you are guilty of all (10)
• Remember what brought us all to God (Eph.
2:11-13)
• Mercy Triumphs over Judgement (13)
3. Speak and do as those who will
be judged by the law of liberty
• Visitors Will Quickly Notice Hypocrisy
• So Make Sure…
• Your Faith has Works (14-20)
• You are a “Hearer” and a “Doer” of the Word
(1:22-25)
• You bridle your tongue here and away (1:26)
• Or everyone will know that your religion is useless
• And everyone will know that your religion is useful
4. Greet Your Neighbor as Yourself (8)
• Leviticus 19:33-34
• 33 ‘And if a stranger dwells with you in your land,
you shall not mistreat him. 34 The stranger who
dwells among you shall be to you as one born
among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for
you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the
LORD your God.
• You were once a stranger to this congregation as
well
5. Comfort Zones
• Saying “Hello” does require us to leave our comfort
zones
• God has always asked His people to leave their
comfort zones for His purpose (Abraham – Foreign
Land, Moses – Left Egypt, Peter – Cornelius)
• Faith in God is always the solution! To even go to a
foreign side of the building!
6. “You sit here in a good place”
• James 2:1-4
• Sit here/Stand here/Sit Here at my Footstool
• People feel welcomed/unwelcomed by where they
are told to sit
• “You sit here in a good place, by me”
7. For the Glory of God
• Romans 15:7
• Help Visitors Get Connected
• Visitor Cards
• Share what is going on at the church here in Gardendale
• Develop a Friendship
• The weather is a good subject to talk about
• Jesus is a great subject to talk about (Rom. 15:9-13)
• Introduce visitors to other members
• “Let me know if I can do anything for you”
