Location of Brunei Darussalam Negara Brunei Darussalam is the country Abode of Peace. Located on the northern shores of the Island of Borneo, the world will see a small, prosperous, stable and peaceful oil rich Kingdom called Brunei Darussalam.
INTRODUCTION Official Language Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language) but English is widely used and can be understood by local Community. Ruler Monarchy system under 1 Malay ruler: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty is the 29th ruler of his line. Capital City Bandar Seri Begawan Land Area 5,765 sq.km (Density - 68 persons / sq.km) Population 500,000 people (Estimated) Races Multi racial society: Malay, Chinese, Others (Dusun, Murut & Iban) Main Religion Islam Independence 1 st January 1984 Economy Oil and Gas Industry - Is the main contributor to the country, followed by Agriculture and Fisheries .
