The new C295W with winglets and Enhanced Performance (EP) engine mode provides:
• Larger payload from Hot & High airfields (6,000ft altitude; ISA+20): 7.85 tons @ 500 nm
• Longer range and fuel savings
• Average elevation of African
continent is around 2,000 ft
• Countries such Ethiopia situated
on a high plateau are demanding
for the operation, with airports
located at 6,000 to 8,000 ft
altitude

Egypt
• Egyptian AF has a fleet of 21 C295 of 24 aircraft contracted
• It’s the worldwide fleet leader thanks to a repetitive order initiated
with three aircraft in 2011 and 5 batches
• Egypt has created a “Medium Size Airlifter fleet ” for
conducting the missions previously allocated to C-130H,
providing important savings in the operation.
• Main mission is the transport of personnel and cargo conducting
the liaison and supply between Egypt AFB network
• VIP Transport through a dedicated aircraft

• Terrorist groups interdict and threaten the main supply routes in area
• United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali has two main axis:
• Timely delivery of cargo at large distances between the main logistic hubs. Ease to reconfigure
cargo and passengers provides the mission responsiveness and flexibility
• Medical evacuation remains the most important air support, including mass casualty evacuation

cases of patients during a flight from BAMAKO-
Tesalit- GAO- BAMAKO. Aircraft fuelled only
once in Bamako for a 8 hour flight time
Ghana AF operation experience:
• Medium support plan (80-100 hours per month)
• 10 days of high intensity operations Max 8 hr per day)
• 15 days low intensity operations (Max of 5 hr per day)
• 3 days of maintenance
• Every 300 hrs: A-check

Spanish AF: Participation on Atalanta operation
• Spanish AF has been actively participating on Atalanta operation led by European Union, against
piracy.
• Operation based on Djibouti (Aden Gulf) using alternatively P-3M Orion (modernized with FITS) and
CN235 MPA.
• CN235 MPA has conducted 1525 FH and 179 missions
• Missions:
- Maritime patrol in Aden Gulf navigation corridor to protect ships from piracy
- Recognize and obtain pictures of possible pirate settlements along Somali coasts
- Conduct Maritime Patrol from south coast of Somalia to Kenya and around Seychelles
