2. Early Life Theodor Seuss Geisel He credited his mother for his love of rhymes and his ability to create the rhymes that he has become known for. “How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” - Dr. Seuss

4. Why the name Seuss? He attended Dartmouth College and he was involved in the campus humor magazine Jack-O-Lantern. He would sign his articles “Seuss”, which was “both his middle name and his mother’s maiden name.” (All About Dr. Seuss).

6. Life Back in the States After touring Europe, he returned and became a cartoonist. His early career was “devoted to creating advertising campaigns for Standard Oil, which he did for more than 15 years” (All About Dr. Seuss). http://orpheus.ucsd.edu/speccoll/dsads/esso/mc-122-01.shtml
