The idea of One Web is like the search for the holy grail. But many don't get the point that One Web is about users and the devices they are using and not about a particular way of building HTML pages.

2. There was once upon a time

3. where web was on a
computer

4. and phones where used to
do calls.

5. Then a clever guy invented
the wireless phone

6. and another thought it
would be fun to have a
browser on it.

7. This was the beginning of
the separation.

8. As first only small pieces
split off
1998 – WML (WAP), cHTML

9. then larger ones broke apart
2002 – xHTML-MP, xHTML Basic

10. and even larger ones
2005 – HTML, xHTML

11. and finally masses moved
away.

12. Some gave up to be a phone
at all.

13. But things got even worse

14. when someone added a
browser to a TV.

15. What will happen next?

16. Will the web be totally
separated?

17. Suddenly a light came into
the darkness

18. and it said there is only
ONE WEB

19. A wave of enlightenment
washed over the dark.

20. And it went on to say
ONE WEB means…

21. But the crowd didn’t listen.

22. The day after people went
on to build One Web.

23. Some lazy ones thought:
it’s just the web

24. and stopped to care.

25. Others preached
Responsive Design

26. but there is only screen size
– and this doesn’t solve it.
