electric guitar and sweet acoustic sounds from the
same instrument, it is now possible with the Hybrid
Special from Michael Kelly. The Hybrid Special is
the perfect stage and studio instrument because it can
instantly switch from a full, natural acoustic guitar
sound to a ripping electric guitar tone! Taking the
concept even further, it can also blend these separate
tones to create endless variations. Imagine playing a
gig while your audience looks for the “other guitar
player!”
When using a Y cable, the Hybrid Special can send
a signal from its acoustic pickup to one amplifier and
its electric guitar signal to another amp to dial in each
sound. You can also run directly into two channels of
a mixing board for live or studio applications to tailor
the different tones as desired. Or you can just keep it
simple by running the Hybrid Special into any guitar
amp using a standard guitar cable.
