{aim} growing a moss wall or other object and record the growing process in order to use
the retrieved data to create a computer-generated visual that will be projected on the wall
{idea} give the spectator the impression that he's looking at 'living' moss, make the invisible

{means} for the installation in the Anderlecht Academy of Fine Arts we use a prefab moss
blanket which consists of 3 elements:
1) a felt layer to hold rainwater
2) particles of moss as a basis for new moss to grow
3) a braided steel wire top layer for the moss to be able to attach
{idea} to have a certainty of getting some result at the presentation in june

{means} for the installation in the Anderlecht Academy of Fine Arts we use TL-light for
some reasons:
1) it's cheap (decision taken before we knew the project was sponsored by the Flemisch
Government)
2) it generates a light spectrum that more or less matches sunlight (we use TL-D)

{means} for the installation in the Anderlecht Academy of Fine Arts we use Rainwater to
feed the moss:
1) It does not contain as much calcium as tapwater (it is not that 'hard')
2) it contains all kinds of biological material and it's the same as what naturally growing
moss gets
3) it contains pollutants and more specific 'fine dust', which is an important source of food
for the moss
4) the ph-value is just right

{means} for the installation in the Anderlecht Academy of Fine Arts we use a pine
wood/betonplex construction that forms the basis for the moss screen:
1) a pine wooden frame was made with on top of that
2) betonplex plates of 4 mm thick (water-resistant, water-proof and relatively cheap)

second stage
[a visual-acoustic installation]
{aim} composing a soundtrack to send to the moss wall in order to measure the
absorption/reflection qualities of moss. Data retrieved from a spectral analysis will be used
to steer the visual that again will be projected on the moss screen.
{idea} give the spectator the impression that he's looking at 'living' moss, which 'dances' on
it's own soundtrack.
