In the fourth in the ENCOUNTER series I take you through the experiences and expectations you can have when you are being LED by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:14 says that those who are “led by the Spirit are children of God” If you are a Christian it is part of your nature to be led by the Holy Spirit.
But where? And How? What can you look for that will serve as evidence that say you and I are being led by the Spirit. In this scripture laden slidedeck I show you the four things that you can expect from the leading of the Holy Spirit. Look for them, co-operate with them and celebrate the transformations you will experience in you life.
Watch for the caveat at the front of the message as well. As I have studied and dug deeper and deeper into this topic the responsibility of the hearer (That’s you and I) to live a surrendered life with a submitted soul and obedient hands is essential to getting the most out of your relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Enjoy being led, it’s the best way to lead!

5. Romans 8:15-17 NLT
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you
fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when
he adopted you as his own children. Now we call
him,“Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with
our spirit to affirm that we are God’s
children. 17 And since we are his children, we are
his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of
God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must
also share his suffering.
6. Ephesians 1:13-14 TMSG
13-14 It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth
and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found
yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and
delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet
from God is the first installment on what’s
coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God
has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.
7. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NLT
21 It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand
firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, 22 and
he has identified us as his own by placing
the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first
installment that guarantees everything he has
promised us.
8. 2 Corinthians 5:5 NIV
5 Now the one who has fashioned us for
this very purpose is God, who has
given us the Spirit as a deposit,
guaranteeing what is to come.
11. Luke 4:1-2 NLT
4 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit,
returned from the Jordan River. He was led
by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where
he was tempted by the devil for forty days.
Jesus ate nothing all that time and became
very hungry.
12. Acts 15:28 NLT
4 Then Peter stepped forward with the
eleven other apostles and shouted to
the crowd, “Listen carefully, all of you, fellow
Jews and residents of Jerusalem! Make no mistake
about this. 15 These people are not drunk, as some
of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning
is much too early for that. 16 No, what you see was
predicted long ago by the prophet Joel....
13. Acts 15:28 NLT
28 “For it seemed good to the Holy
Spirit and to us to lay no greater burden
on you than these few requirements:
16. John 16:7-8 NLT
7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away,
because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come.
If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
8 And when he comes, he will
convict the world of its sin, and of
God’s righteousness, and of the coming
judgment.
17. Romans 8:12-14 NLT
12 Therefore, dear brothers and
sisters, you have no obligation to do
what your sinful nature urges you to
do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die.
But if through the power of the Spirit you put
to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you
will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of
God are children of God.
18. Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and
you shall not fulfill the lust of the
flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are
contrary to one another, so that you do not do
the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by
the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful
not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no
different from what others experience. And
God is faithful. He will not allow the
temptation to be more than you can
stand. When you are tempted, he will show
you a way out so that you can endure.
22. John 14:26 NLT
26 But when the Father sends the Advocate
as my representative—that is, the Holy
Spirit—he will teach you everything and
will remind you of everything I have
told you.
23. Romans 8:12-14 NLT
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have
no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges
you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will
die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put
to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will
live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of
God are children of God.
24. Galatians 5:16-18; 25 NIV
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh
desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit
what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict
with each other, so that you are not to do whatever
you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are
not under the law......25 Since we live by the
Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
